Skydiving Event to kick off Great Virginia Bash in Orange County Booster's Park!

(Chesterfield, Va) NWA Virginia has reached an agreement with Kevin Reynolds of Skydive Orange Incorporated. Skydive Orange is located directly adjacent to Orange Booster Park and will be parachuting a few of their members into the event to kick it off!

"Due to the proximity of the event and the fact that many of us are fans of professional wrestling, we will do it for nothing, " said Skydive Orange Public Relations Officer Kevin Reynolds. "This will be great for us, the NWA, and the community of Orange County. We have performed demonstrations for major professional and college sporting events throughout the state, and I feel the NWA and its fans will be pleased with our professionalism and expertise."

The National Wrestling Alliance of Virginia is holding a summer long series of shows and tapings that are called The Great Virginia Bash. While shows have been held through-out Virginia, this will be the first skydiving event at ANY professional wrestling show in Virginia, and possibly the country.

"We continuously seek to make wrestling different and fun for the entire family, " said NWA Virginia BOD member K. Leach. "Skydiving to kick off an event is just mindboggling."

The event will feature several title matches, including an NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Title match between Champion Scotty Blaze and challenger Preston Quinn, Alpha Champion Mike Booth and former Champion Chris Dramen and MECW Champion Midnight Mauler against Sexay Kevina.

Also featured will be wrestlers Shane Falco, Badnews Johnson, Damian Wayne, Frank Parker, Mike Vaughn, Xtreme Outlaws, former NWA World Women's Champion Kiley McLean and more.

The event starts at 7pm, but the gates to the park open at 6pm. Tickets are available at the front gate for a price of $8 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under. It is an outdoor event and will take place near the pavillion behind the football field.

The event is a fundraiser for the Orange County Booster's Club. The Booster's Club is located at 114-11 Bloomsbury Road in Orange County. It is 3 miles north of the town of Orange on Route 20.

NWA Virginia can be seen weekly on Chesterfield Comcast cable on Saturday's at 9am, channel 17, as well as on the internet at www.WrestlingNetwork.net. NWA Virginia can be found on the web at www.NWAVirginia.com.

NWA Virginia's "KINGS OF THE COMMONWEALTH" Tag Teams Announced!

(Chesterfield, Va) All the contracts have been signed, all of the appeals have been heard, and the NWA Virginia Board of Directors are ready to announce the 8 teams that will be involved in the Inaugural 'Kings of the Commonwealth' tag team tournament.

In a tournament that is similar to the King of Virginia tournament that focused on individual wrestlers, which was won by Adrian Whisper, the Kings of the Commonwealth will be a single elimination tournament.

The tournament consists of the following teams:

1) NWA Virginia State Tag Team Champions The Old School Empire. 'Simply Perfect' Preston Quinn and 'Big Time' Mike Booth are two time tag team champions. Quinn is a former heavyweight champion and Booth is the current Alpha Division Champion. Both men excel in brutality and can disarm an opponent with an array of dazzling scientific holds and moves. They defeated Scotty Blaze and Pharoah [who was subbing for Blaze's regular partner], for the belts.

2) Scotty Blaze and Frank 'The Tank' Parker. This huge, monsterous team defeated several other teams like Jay and Trey Owens, the Elements of Destruction and Chris Dramin/Sean Callaway to advance to the number one contenders position. While falling prey to the devious tactics of The Old School Empire, Blaze has vowed to get revenge against Old School Empire for stealing 'his belts'.

3) Elements of Destruction. While not acknowledging who will be the team for this event, inside sources are reporting that it will indeed be 'The Arsenal' Dragan Frost and the current Jr. Heavyweight Champion 'The Unholy One' Grail. There is rumor of problems since the Panchos show was unexpectedly derailed. Frost, the leader of EoD, gave Maxx Dynamite and ultimatum to join EoD, or else. The deadline was this past Saturday, and no word has reached the offices of NWA Virginia as far as Dynamite's decision.

4) The Old School Empire. NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion 'Mr. Mid Atlantic' Damian Wayne has promised to bring in a partner and enter this tournament. He said that he would team with anyone in the back and make sure that both of the Old School Empire teams make it to the final match.

5) Xtreme Outlaws. The current MECW tag team champions have the talent and skill to go far. They have defeated the Fab Foundation and The Ghostriders to advance to the tournament. The Outlaws have faced Blaze and Parker out west and have defeated them. DB and Mikkie are blackhorses to be watched carefully.

6) The Sons of Ra. Another team, much like EoD, that is not reporting who is wrestling. This fearsome threesome is led by Pharoah, and includes Prince Malik, and Shaka, the Warrior. Any combination of these will make for a long match for their opponents. Pharoah has tasted what it is like to defend tag team gold, even though he did not help Blaze keep the belts. The three of them are former NWA Global Six Man tag team Champions, having vacated the titles due to lack of competition.

7) Shane Falco and 'High Flying' Chris Escobar. A pair of singles wrestlers who are trying their hand at tag teaming. Falco recently defeated Pharoah in a hard hitting match, and Escobar is looking to get his hands on Grail, whom he blames for putting him out of wrestling for 6 months with a sneak attack involving a baseball bat. Both of these men are outstanding singles wrestlers.

8) Attitude Incorporated. The newly reunited 'Vindicator' Mike Vaughn and 'King of Controversy' Robert Royal have promised to regain championship gold. They are former Global Six Man Champions with Donovan Torrez, and then with Hugh B. Johnson. Vaughn is a former Jr. Heavyweight Champion with an axe to grind with, or place in the skulls of, Chris Escobar and Grail. Should Attitude Inc meet up with either of those teams in the tournament, Vaughn has promised to show them what happens when Vindicator and Attitude come together.

There are the 8 teams for the first ever Kings of the Commonwealth tag team tournament. Not everyone is going to be satisfied with the field of teams, and even the NWA BOD had to get involved at one point, but those are the final teams.

Also on the show is an NWA World Women's Title match featuring a return match between World Champion Lexie Fyfe and former World Champion Kiley McLean. These two ladies can't stand each other and following Kiley's accosting of Neil Sharkey for a return match, the World Champion had better be prepared for anything!

The Kings of the Commonwealth Tag Team Tournament will take place in the Piankitank Ruritan Club, 7138 Buckley Hall Road, Matthews, Va, 23109. For direction information, call the PR Club at 804 725-7670.

This event is being recorded for DVD purchase only, though highlights will be shown on the NWA 'Action Zone'.

The winners of the event receive the honor of being the chosen Kings for a year, a pair of trophies, and a check for $1000! This is a special event that no wrestling fan should miss.

NWA WRESTLING RETURNS TO SATURDAY MORNINGS!

{Chesterfield, Va) After a series of lengthy discussions, NWA wrestling action will return to Saturday mornings in Chesterfield County beginning on Saturday, August 6.

"'The Action Zone' returns to the airwaves!" exclaimed a jubilant Rick OBrien. "We were on the air in NYC for 4 years, every Monday night from 7-8pm. Our ring announcer would hype up the show during an event by saying; 'Before Raw, Before Nitro it's NWA-NY's ACTION ZONE!' It is great that we're back on the air and our ring announcer will be able to hype the show again!"

'The Action Zone' will air on Saturday mornings at 9am on Channel 17 on Comcast Cable in Chesterfield County.

"The first episode will be a combination of two episodes and will be almost an hour long. We want to kick it off with a blast," explained Assistant Producer Mattew Griggs. "These will be the same episodes that are airing on the internet via The Wrestling Network. You could call it a simulcast of wrestling action."

NWA Virginia's 'Action Zone' has been a critical hit for the Virginia based NWA promotion. It has received over 10,000 downloads since its inception.

"We're averaging about 1000 downloads an episode," said Craig Cole, President of The Wrestling Network. "But we've got some people who are on dial-up and have trouble downloading the show. With the edition of Chesterfield Comcast Cable running the show, people now have a choice; watch the TV, or download and watch at their leisure."

Chesterfield Comcast Cable says that NWA action is no stranger to their network. "We had NWA-TNA's Explosion and that was a highly rated and watched show," said Comcast representative Martin Schiff. "We're very happy to have NWA wrestling back on our station, and in such a great time slot as well. Early morning wrestling is the way wrestling used to be, and after viewing the product, I think NWA Virginia has a great product for us show."

The first episode will feature several matches, and recap events that will lead up to the confrontation between NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion 'Mr. Mid Atlantic' Damian Wayne and 'The Heatmiser' Scotty Blaze. These two wrestlers battered themselves black and blue at Panchos in Hopewell. The rematch was taped in Sugar Grove, Virginia.

Talent that will be seen on 'The Action Zone' includes tag team Champions 'Simply Perfect' Preston Quinn and 'Big Time' Mike Booth [who is also the Alpha Division Champion] who are 'The Old School Empire', Jr. Heavyweight Champion 'The Unholy One' Grail, 'Revolution' Chris Dramin, Sean Callaway, Maxx Dynamite, Dragan Frost, Frank 'The Tank' Parker, Big Tony, Alex Sage, Pharoah and the Sons of Ra, 'Highflying' Chris Escobar, Shane Falco and many more pro wrestling personalities.

Comcast Cable in Chesterfield can be seen on Channel 17, while people interested in viewing 'The Action Zone' can tune in every Saturday morning, starting on Saturday, August 6 at 9am. Check out NWAVirginia.com and WrestlingNetwork.net for more information on the NWA in Virginia.

NWA ACTION ZONE SURPASSES 6,000 DOWNLOADS!

'High Flying' Chris Escobar Returns against 'Vindicator' Mike Vaughn

(Chesterfield, Va) NWA Virginia's hugely successful webcast has surpassed 6000 downloads for the first 6 episodes, according to The Wrestling Network's own President Craig Cole.

"I am very happy with the results of our project. The product, both the technical part of it, and the in ring product have improved tremendously since our first airing.

"As proof of that fact, we had over 1200 downloads for this last episode alone. NWA Virginia is doing VERY well."

The latest episode features 'Wrestling Prodigy' Sean Callaway vs. Tommie Smallz, and 'High Flying' Chris Escobar vs. 'Vindicator' Mike Vaughn. This is the first time that Escobar has wrestled on The Action Zone, though he has made numerous appearances. Licensing issues have stopped him from wrestling. Now, as a licensed wrestler in Virginia, he is looking to get back the Jr. Heavyweight Title that he never lost. That championship is now held by 'The Unholy One' Grail.

Also on this episode is a short segment where former World Champion Kiley McLean makes a rather angry statement directed towards current NWA Virginia person in charge, Neil Sharkey.

For more information on the NWA in Virginia, visit www.NWAVirginia.com, and for the latest episode of NWA's ACTION ZONE, download it for free at www.WrestlingNetwork.net.

The next taping for THE ACTION ZONE will take place on June 18 in Glade Spring, Virginia at the town's Rescue Squad.

"We're very happy with where we are at right now," said NWA Virginia BOD Member K. Leach. "Things are clicking on almost all cylinders. Once Sharkey is replaced, things will be back to normal, and the action will get even better."

Neil Sharkey was unavailable for comment.

'THE ACTION ZONE' SURPASSES 2,300 downloads!

(Chesterfield, Va) NWA Virginia's ACTION ZONE, episode 3, was delayed for several hours due to the incredibly high demand for the download of Episode 2, which featured an incredibly brutal match between NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion 'Mr. Mid Atlantic' Damian Wayne and 'The Heatmiser' Scotty Blaze. The episode runs almost 90 minutes. Another featured match on Episode 2 included Alpha Champion 'Technical Revolution' Chris Dramin vs. 'Big Time' Mike Booth.

Episode 3, which is available for download now, features the following matches: 'Badnews' Johnson vs. The PainMaster and Jon-Jon The Phenominon/'Playboy' Pete Jannings in a return match against 'The Sons of Ra'.

"All the upcoming episodes will be approximately 30 minutes and will feature 2 matches," explained The Wrestling Network's President Craig Cole. "It is a lot to download such a long event, and with over 2300 downloads since the first episode, we're doing our best to get the episodes cut, and get them out."

"Brandon [Bailey, an NWA Va Board of Director] spoke to the entire crew before the last event, and he made sure that everyone knew the unique opportunity they were being afforded,' said Scott Sechtel, a fellow Va BOD Member. "2,300 downloads of both parts of both episodes? That's great!"

"The response has been overwhelming. Those downloads are COMPLETE downloads of the episodes. It doesn't include those that only downloaded part one of an episode. The 2,300 includes downloads of BOTH COMPLETE episodes," Craig Cole explained. "By going to a target time of about 30 minutes, it will ensure that even more downloads can be expected."

Episode 3 was taped at the Blackwell Community Center on April 23, and will continue for the next 4 weeks. Upcoming matches will feature the NWA World Women's Title defense where Kiley McLean defends against Lexie Fyfe, The Old School Empire will attempt to regain the tag team straps from Frank 'The Tank' Parker and 'The Heatmiser' Scotty Blaze, and NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Champion 'Mr.Mid-Atlantic' Damian Wayne vs. 'Technical Revolution' Chris Dramin.

Many wrestlers will also debut for the first time on The Action Zone over the next few weeks. The Action Zone can be downloaded from www.WrestlingNetwork.net and more information about NWA Virginia can be located at www.NWAVirginia.com.

'Action Zone' a SMASHING Success!

NEW EPISODE TO BEGIN TODAY!!

(Chesterfield, Va) Due to the OVERWHELMING success of the initial broadcast on the internet of The Action Zone The Wrestling Network President and Owner Craig Cole, in consultation with NWA Virginia: Global Traditions, has already uploaded the next episode.

"We had a little over 1000 downloads in the first few days, including 350 over the weekend! We're very satisfied with that," said Cole.

"We tweaked a few things here and there, to improve on the first show, so this next show will be even better," said NWA Virginia's Matthew Driggs, Asst. Producer for the show.

"Thanks to the tremendous support of our fans, we have had a fantastic response! 1,000 downloads of BOTH episodes! That's GREAT!" said an exuberant Rick OBrien.

"The decision to upload earlier than originally planned, with the extremely high demand of the product was a simple decision to make," added Kelly Atkins. "We're looking forward to this weekend's taping as well. We're going to attempt 4 episodes worth of taping, each about a half-hour long."

The next episode is almost 90 minutes long, broken into two downloads and features one of the most brutally violent, non-hardcore matches seen in a long time. That match was for the NWA Virginia State Heavyweight Title as Champion 'Mr. Mid-Atlantic' Damian Wayne defends against 1/2 of the Virginia State Tag Team Championship 'Heatmiser' Scotty Blaze. Alpha Champion 'Technical Revolution' Chris Dramin defends his belt against Old School Empire member 'Big Time' Mike Booth. Also, 'The Mourning Star' Brandon Day takes on Billy Gibbs, and Dragan Frost battles Maxx Dynamite. Frost broke Dynamite's left arm several months ago, and the rookie is looking to teach the veteran a lesson. Will he? Download and find out!

The show will have direct implications for this Saturday's show at Blackwell Community Center in Richmond. BOILING POINT will resolve several issues that the Action Zone has highlighted, including a NO DQ match between NWA World Women's Champion Kiley McLean and Lexie Fyfe, and the return of 'High Flying' Chris Escobar going against new Jr. Heavyweight Champion 'The Unholy One' Grail.

Check out The Wrestling Network at www.WrestlingNetwork.net and NWA Virginia information at www.NWAVirginia.com. You will not be disappointed.

NWA Virginia Press Release

'ACTION ZONE' RELAUNCH SET FOR SATURDAY!

Webcast a GO!

(Chesterfield, Virginia) - After the dynamic taping of the event from Pancho's Grill and Billiards in Hopewell, Virginia, NWA Virginia's 'Action Zone' is set for broadcast.

"Even with the tornado that nearly destroyed our editing and broadcast facilities, we were able to come together as a team and complete the project in record time," said The Wrestling Network President Craig Cole. "I am so proud of my team, they all deserve a bonus."

Not only is the initial episode edited and set for launch, but so is the subsequent episode that will air on Saturday the 23rd. Ironically, that is the same date as "BOILING POINT" at Blackwell Community Center in Richmond.

The inaugural return edition of 'The Action Zone' features a contest between Sean 'Prodigy' Callaway and 'The Sinsational' Alexx Sage. It also features a main event match between NWA World Women's Champion Kiley McLean and Lexie Fyfe. There are interviews, and behind the scenes happenings that should make the episode stand out.

"It is something I am VERY proud of," said Cole. "It has a real old school feel to it. With the interviews, graphics, and behind the scenes stuff, it is a great show to watch. The only weak part was the commentary. That will need work on."

NWA Virginia Board of Directors President Rick OBrien replied," The commentary was fine, but it does need a little fixing. I'll get better at it."

"The best part about this though," said BOD Member Kelly Atkins,"is that we're now a part of a medium that can be seen by millions of people. That says something."

The webcast can be seen at www.wrestlingnetwork.net and will be available for download as of 9am on Saturday, April 16. The 1 hour program will be available in two 30-minute installments.

"After some discussion, we'll change the format to a half-hour show, and we will go weekly with it, rather than twice a month," said Executive Assistant Producer Matthew Driggs. "It's a trial and error situation as we start, and we will improve everything as time goes on."

"What a great time to be part of the NWA, and to be a fan of NWA-Virginia!" beamed K. Leach. "Fans will now know what we mean when we say NWA Virginia: Global Traditions. With the demise of NWA Wildside coming up, wrestling fans are going to be looking for an alternative. We are going to be able to provide that alternative."

Look for more behind the scenes happenings, attacks, and interactions from 'The Action Zone' as more and more episodes are taped, and storylines are advanced.

"Fans are looking for something else besides the WWE, and we are going to be able to provide a piece of that, and we feel they are going to be thrilled with our product," concluded Cole.

NWA VIRGINIA GOES WEBCAST!

'ACTION ZONE' Revived and moves to Net!

(Chesterfield, Virginia) NWA Virginia has reached an agreement with The Wrestling Network to exclusively broadcast NWA Virginia shows. The shows name will be "The Action Zone" which is the name used by NWA Member Rick OBrien when he was in NY. 'The Action Zone' aired for approximately 4 years in parts of New York City.

The President of The Wrestling Network Craig Cole said, "There were times when the negotiations were so intense, I wasn't sure that this project would take off. However, we were able to overcome some minor problems and reach a mutually satisfactory agreement."

"We are VERY excited about this project said NWA Virginia Board Member Kelly Atkins. "With this agreement, our product can reach more people than simply being broadcast on cable or cable access."

Craig Cole agreed, "Most people now have the ability to download at very high speeds. That will allow them to download the show very fast, and watch it at their leisure. No commercials to worry about, no restrictions by the FCC, and we will have the ability to broadcast on OUR timetable and not someone elses." NWA Virginia BOD President Rick OBrien predicted that "'Action Zone' had a very loyal following in NYC, and I expect that as more and more people become aware of it being back, we'll have an even larger audience."

The first event to be webcast will be "NEW GLORY" which takes place this Saturday at Pancho's Bar and Grill in Hopewell, Virginia. The show will be taped and broken down into 2 one hour episodes. There will be backstage interviews and segments that the people in attendance at the show won't be able to see.

"Attending a live event is fantastic, and as we become more and more comfortable with the video set up, we'll be able to do more and more with it. We'll use the webcast to hype our upcoming shows as well," said production assistant Matthew Driggs. "This will allow our fans in Roanoke, Atkins, and Sugar Grove, to name a few, an opportunity to follow what is going on when we're in Central Virginia, and when we're in Southwest Virginia, or Northern Virginia or on the Eastern Shore, fans will be able to see what happened out there."

The Wrestling Network will launch this weekend. It can be found on the web at www.WrestlingNetwork.net

"I have worked with the National Wrestling Alliance before, and NWA Virginia came highly recommended," Craig Cole said. "I think it is a perfect partnership, using the perfect medium, to bring great wrestling to fans all over the world!"

"Imagine being seen, not just here in Virginia, but in NY, in Pennsylvania, in Ohio, in Alaska, in the United Kingdom or Japan! With this webcast we will have that potential," said OBrien. "We're all VERY excited." This Saturday's show is at Pancho's Bar and Grill, 4100 Oaklawn Blvd, Hopwell, Virginia. Tickets are $10. There will be four title matches, including a Casket match, and at least 3 other non title matches. The show starts at 7pm.
