MORE DETAILS
At the start of the show, Aaron Idol came to the ring with the broken Pacific Cup trophy to thank the crowd for their support and to also state that he has a sternum injury and is not medically cleared to wrestle. As such, he has selected someone with a similar wrestling style to replace him and invited Dave Richards to the ring. Richards talked about what an honour it would be to wrestle Chance Beckett and also pointed out that he is focused on making New Japan Pro Wrestling pay for the attack by American Dragon and Puma at the end of the Pacific Cup Tournament in April.
1. "Nasty" Nate Daniels over Ritchie Destiny. After the match, Destiny, Mike Dempsey, and Destiny's Little Secret attacked Daniels. Cremator came out for the save. After the ring had cleared, Cremator promised that Dark Regime was bringing hardcore back to ECCW "in a big way."
2. Calum MacBeth defeated Amazing Halo
3. Dropkick Murphy retained his NWA Canadian Junior Heavyweight Title in an Elimination Three Way Dance. Dropkick first eliminated Disco after Tokyo Tiger sprayed mist in his eyes. Then, Dropkick won the match after a legdrop from the turnbuckle.
4. Wrathchild, Killswitch, and Ladies Choice defeated the West Coast Connection and "Gorgeous" Michelle Starr when Ladies' Choice pinned Starr after he hit him with a chain. Following the match, a masked man came out of the audience to attack Ladies' Choice. He was revealed to be "Mr. Beefy Goodness" Vance Nevada. Nevada told LC that he wanted him in a match at the next PoCo show. Starr, upset at Nevada for ignoring him in the ring, made it a three way dance between Vance, LC, and Starr on June 17th in PoCo.
5. Fast Freddy Funk defeated Sweet Daddy Devastation. After the match, Brian Sommers came to ringside to sing "Happy Birthday" to Freddy Funk. As he was singing, Seth Knight approached Funk from behind with a birthday cake. When Funk turned around, Seth hit him in the face with the cake and attacked Funk.
6. Scotty Mac defeated Asian Cooger in a hard fought match between both men.
7. Chance Beckett beat Dave Richards to become the #1 contender to the NWA Pacific Northwest Championship, currently held by Memphis Raines. After the match, Memphis came to the ring and gave Beckett his " shot at the belt"...a shot with the title belt across the head. Aaron Idol made the save and asked Chance to be his tag team partner against Models, Inc. at the June 17th show in PoCo.

Along with Puma, American Dragon beat down Idol until Dave Richards made the save. NWA/ECCW Owner Dave Republic said that ECCW would stand up to the challenge of NJPW and gave Mr. Inoki 30 days to respond. After that Republic said, "we will bring the fight to you".

"Maniac" Matt Borne, Juggernaut & Abbadon vs Ladies Choice, Seth Knight & Machette Brown
Visit www.ECCW.com for more information. More detail results appear below.
The first round of the 2005 Pacific Cup tournament has concluded, and we are all set for the semifinals and finals tomorrow night in Vancouver at the Croatian Community Centre!
Newly crowned NWA Canadian junior heavyweight champion Dropkick Murphy had his first successful championship defense against APW's Derek Sanders, defeating him after a series of rollups ending in a pinfall after an even match between the champion and the "All-American".
Dave Richards successfully advanced in the Pacific Cup tournament, defeating T. Kasaki in the night's first tournament match after forcing Kasaki to submit to his crossface finisher. Richards will meet New Japan USA's Puma in the second round tomorrow night, following Puma's victory over Jesse Jimenez. Jimenez reversed a suplex attempt by Puma by landing his own suplex into the ring, but upon impact, Puma reached up with his own legs and caught the fiery Jimenez in a cradle, keeping him down long enough for the three-count.
Models Inc. did not have a good night, as both Memphis Raines and MR2 suffered first round losses in the Pacific Cup tournament. MR2 actually had APW's JJ Perez in a losing position after executing the Unprettier, but MR2 decided to forego the pinfall attempt to attempt to rain down from the top rope on Perez. Perez leapt to his feet and, after several attempts, took MR2 down from the top rope with the JJ1, a facecrusher from the top rope.
Memphis Raines, the NWA/ECCW Pacific Northwest junior heavyweight champion, had no better luck against one of his bigger rivals, Aaron Idol. The two had possibly the top match of the night, exchanging big moves as easily as they reddened each other's chests with thunderous kicks and chops. Memphis made the same mistake as his partner, taunting a fallen Idol and actually slapping him a number of times. It proved to be his downfall, as Idol shocked Raines by countering an Irish whip with a handspring counter and a spinning high kick that knocked Memphis down and out for the pinfall.
JJ Perez and Aaron Idol will meet in the second round, along with two others. Two former Pacific Cup and former NWA/ECCW Champions went at it, as the 2002 winner, Black Dragon, faced off with the 2003 winner, Scotty Mac. Scotty's initial advantage was nullified early, as the referee quickly ejected Scotty's backup, Machette Brown, from ringside. Left to his own devices, the angered SMAC couldn't put Black Dragon away, and Dragon sent Scotty to the losing end of the match after a stunning shooting star press. However, his celebration was short-lived, as Machette and Scotty attacked Dragon after the match and attempted to remove his prized mask.
Black Dragon will meet another dragon in the next round of the tournament, as "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson finished off Chance Beckett in an excellent fifteen-minute matchup, which was even the entire way. Beckett's own Bunny attempted to tip the scales in her man's favor by stunning Danielson with a hurricanrana, but Danielson fought back, withstanding an attempt by Beckett at the Chance Encounter to send Beckett crashing to the mat hard with a top-rope backdrop suplex.
In the main event of the evening, the 400-pound Juggernaut retained his title against a tough challenger in "Maniac" Matt Borne. The battle between the two spilled out into the crowd and even into the streets of Surrey, with both men bleeding from their heads before the match was over. The fight came down to a battle of attrition, with Juggernaut ekeing out the victory with a rollup on the game Borne. After the match was over, both men were attacked by Scotty Mac, Machette Brown, Seth Knight, and Ladies Choice. Shockingly, Ladies Choice went straight after Borne, the man he was scheduled to team with tomorrow night! Borne and the NWA/ECCW Champion came back, sending all four men out of the ring to regroup. Borne and Juggernaut conferred and challenged the men to an amended match for tomorrow night - Borne, Juggernaut and Juggernaut's original partner and best friend, Abbadon against Knight, Machette Brown and Ladies Choice! Manager Brian Sommers quickly accepted, and the new main event for our conclusion in Vancouver has been signed!

VANCE vs DISCO ROCKS POCO! A near sellout crowd in Port Coquitlam last Friday evening had their first glimpse of VANCE NEVADA without the NWA/ECCW Championship. Most agreed that without the title, he is even MORE dangerous than ever since he has nothing to lose. Even though he lost in his match against former friend, DISCO FURY, Vance battered Disco all over the parking lot and seemingly throughout downtown PoCo! Other results saw DROPKICK MURPHY beat MAJOR HARDWAY; SCOTTY MAC going over on the hated SETH KNIGHT; Tag Team Champions MODELS INC. retained their titles against AARON ID
OL and KURT STERLING; and much more!
Interesting Note: Some of the wrestlers (led by Disco Fury) donated their pay for the evening to the PoCo family who lost their home in a fire on November 11th.
