The History Of Fort Meade
Fort Meade has always been a symbol of greatness in Maryland and the surrounding areas. On a daily basis men and women of the armed forces spend all day doing what is necessary to ensure the safety of our society. On October 1, 2005, the tone of Fort Meade will be entirely different, as men and women put their very bodies on the line in a very different way.
In the 1990's MCW (Maryland Championship Wrestling) brought numerous live shows to Fort Meade. The fans of Maryland saw the venue as a perfect solution to the limitations that Maryland has put over its pro wrestlers. The claim was enormous, "On military grounds, the state regulatory departments have no say over the shows". This was what fans heard, and what was delivered was just the same. Unbelievable non stop action, sometimes with a pinch of "extreme" action ... and other times with an all out hardcore war! The effect it had on Maryland wrestling was huge.
On October 1, 2005 the wrestlers of the East Coast will once again set out to bring this kind of action back to Maryland. The initial show announcement already promises to deliver BIG! With longtime television stars like "The King" Jerry Lawler ,"New Age Outlaw" Billy Gunn, and The Patriot the action should be non stop. In addition, ECW hardcore legend Axl Rotten is fired up from his recent PPV and television action, and is ready to bring in his own brand of "Extreme" action. And, after 6 years, due to the Maryland State Athletic Commission not allowing him to work in Maryland, Axl is ready to unleash hell on his opponent (to be announced), with the help of some friends....like a barbed wire-wrapped chair or a barbed wire baseball bat.
