The Liberty Wrestling Organization returned to action this past Saturday night, March 6th to the Boys and Girls Club of Lodi, NJ with yet another action packed night of exciting professional wrestling action. Two amazing title matches and one inter-promotional match highlighted the evening. Below are the results.
**Match 1- Ima Shitheed defeated Josh Thor via pinfall**
Before the match,Johnny Malanga, the leader of "Malanga Enterprises" came out sporting an eye patch over his left eye. "The Sicilian Billionaire" stated that he suffered eye injuries from a "cheap shot" from LWO owner Tommy Face last month at Resolutions. He said that he was done "playing around" and the time "for Malanga Enterprise to dominate the LWO" was upon us.
In a tremendous match to start off the event, the Terror of Isfahan was able to take the advantage early. But the young Thor was able to take control, and had Shitheed set up for a high risk move off of the top rope. But, thank to distraction from Gianni Malanga, Shitheed was able to reverse Thor's attempt and was able to hit him with his Suicide Bomb Frog Splash for the victory.
**Match 2- Blake Haze defeated "Smooth" Ricky Suave via pinfall to qualify for the 2010 Liberty Cup Tournament**
A month after suffering a calf injury, the Smooth one was ready to take on the LWO's resident Linebacker, Blake Haze. Just they they battled in tag team action, it was a match that was very competitive. But Haze was finally able to take control and hit Suave with a vicious Brain Buster Suplex. This sends Blake Haze into the Liberty Cup Tournament, along with J.C. Bouchard and Chrono Chris.
**Match 3- Jean-Christian Bouchard defeated Chaos, Mongoose, and Wyndam James Winthorpe III via pinfall to become #1 contender for he LWO Heavyweight Championship**
In a match made by President Dimmick hours before the show, these four warriors battled back and forth, each wanting to be next in line for a shot at the title. The match was as intense as people imagined it would be, with each man doing whatever it takes to win. There never seemed to be a clear cut winner until a bit of teamwork between Bouchard and Chaos as they sent their other two opponents flying to the outside of the ring. Then, the man they call Chaos seized an opportunity and had The Mighty Bouch set up for his signature Chaos Bomb. But the devious Gianni Malanga was able to bling Wrestling's Sickest MF'er with a hand full of a foreign powder-like substance. This gave Canada's greatest athlete the opportunity and he seized it and picked up the 1-2-3, giving Malanga Enterprises their first shot at LWO gold next month.
**Match 4- "Pretty Boy" Eric Hiller defeated Sean Haze via pinfall to qualify for the 2010 Liberty Cup Tournament**
After seeing his brother qualify, the LWO's resident QB was more confident than ever. His opponent was just as confident however. And this match was just as intense as the match between their partners earlier in the evening. Back and forth the two went, trying to qualify for their chance at the company's greatest prize. Both men had their opportunities to win, but finally the "Pretty One" was able to take the match with a devastating Exploder side slam, sending the Hiller into the Liberty Cup.
***PRESIDENTIAL ANNOUNCEMENT***
After intermission, President Richard D. Dimmick came out to make an announcement. He announced that this year, the final spot in the Liberty Cup will be filled a different way. This year, a 4-way Wildcard Ladder Match next month will determine the final participant in the 2010 Liberty Cup Tournament. The four men chosen were Chaos and Sean Haze, who lost their qualifying matches but won a special drawing of all the qualifying match runner ups. And the other two, who are special invitees by President Dimmick, are Ima Shitheed and Thunderfoot. This match will headline the show on April 10th.
**Match 5- Kekoa "The Flyin' Hawaiian" defeated "The Essential" Eric Cooper via pinfall to retain the LWO Heavyweight Championship**
Claiming an outside distraction cost him the belt last month, Eric Cooper seemed a little distracted going into his contractual rematch with the new champion. And just like last month, these two rivals went at with everything they had. Cooper had numerous opportunities to take back the LWO Heavyweight title, but the resiliency of Kekoa wouldn't allow it.
When Cooper hit Kekoa with his vicious finisher, the one that helped earn his lone fall victory last month, it looked like Kekoa's title reign would be the shortest in LWO history. But showing the fortitude of a true Hawaiian, the champ was able to kick out, and the match continued. When Cooper tried to finish the champion off with a power bomb, the champ was able to reverse it and pin the challenger to retain his title. With the resiliency shown, there is no reason not to believe that Kekoa will be champion for a long time. As for Eric Cooper, it is doubtful he will just fade out of the championship picture that easily.
**Match 6- Bobby Fish defeated J.C. Westler via pinfall**
In this highly anticipated inter-promotional match between two wrestlers with similar style, these two put on a tremendous display of technical skills that had the crowd on their feet and in awe the entire time. Fan favorite Westler was able to hold his own against the much more experienced Bobby Fish from Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. But Fish, showing the skills that got him to where he is, was able to take the advantage and finish off Westler with a series of martial arts knee strikes and a vicious finishing powerbomb. Fish stated after words that he has arrived in LWO and that Kekoa should be on notice.
***MAIN EVENT***
Match 7- "Mr. Wolf" Evan Myers defeated Danny Danger to retain the LWO National Championship
In the evenings main event, these two bitter rivals faced off one more time for one of the biggest prizes in the LWO. Danny Danger, claiming he was robbed of the title back in December, earned his shot last month. The champion, however, was not scared for another challenge by the young, hungry challenger. And here we were. Myers versus Danger III for the LWO National Championship.
Both men came out with a fury for this match, as it looked like this match would live up to all the hype. The two battled for control of the match, and they battled back and forth, with each strike, hold, and move more powerful than the next. Both men seemed to be wrestling the perfect wrestling match. Danger kicked out of Myer's "Deadwood Death Drop" brainbuster variation at the 14 minute mark. Soon after Danger hit Myers with his patented Danger Dog and the title seemed within his reach but the champion showed a flash of resiliency not appreciated by wrestling fans and was able to kick out!! Danger, fueled with a fire went for it again, only to be reversed my Myers when he whipped Danger into the corner. Myers, following close behind Danger was met with Danger being able to perch himself up on top of his shoulders in an apparent Victory Roll attempt, the same move that he nearly pinned Myers with in the first minute of the match. But the intelligent champion was able to counter the challenger and and Myers was able to stop him halfway through the roll and catch Danger for the 1-2-3.
After Myers left the ring victorious, the visibly angered Danny Danger seemed to lose it completely. The normally cool and collected Danger did something that we thought he would never do: He struck an LWO official. He the left the ring in a fit of rage, throwing the ring steps and shouting profanities as he stormed to the locker room.
LWO cameras followed Danger and what was caught on footage will SHOCK LWO fans!! Look for this exclusive footage later this week as well as the champion's comments, comments from Bobby Fish on why he came to the LWO and more as we lead up to our return to Lodi, NJ on Saturday night, April 10th with LWO WILDCARD!!!
