Quick Legends of the Ring Convention Report
I'm in a rush and just wanted to get this up real quick. The Legends of the Ring Convention, promoted by James Soubasis of 3 Count Promotions & Terrance Brennan was another huge hit, as usual. LOTR has made a name for themselves and are easily the top convention promoters in this area.
All the guests appeared as advertised, with the exception of Verne Gagne. I talked to Greg Gagne personally, who said his father is in no condition to go on an airplane right now, due to severe dementia. I believe Greg Gagne will be doing more conventions soon, as other promoters were impressed and found Greg easy to deal with. I know one promoter offered Verne a booking but Greg turned it down saying that Verne really can't travel at the moment.
I am bad at giving attendance numbers when it comes to conventions, since it's always a constant flow of people, but I'd estimate at least 300 people there. I'm sure LOTR will provide us with an accurate number later on this week.
I've been going to these conventions for some time now and no disrespect to any other convention promoter, but no event of this magnitude moves as easily and briskly as LOTR. Lines moved, people were happy and everything was delivered as advertised.
Among the guests there were Booker T, Demolition, Honky Tonk Man, Greg Gagne, 2 Cold Scorpio, Curtis Hughes (Looking fucking JACKED), Dawn Marie, Missy Hyatt, Tammy Sytch, The Zombie, Steve Blackman, Ultimo Dragon, Typhoon, Chris Masters, Shane Douglas, Larry Hennig, Ken Patera, Sharmell, Kevin Nash, Ivan Putski & many others.
I know both James & Terrance work hard on these events and all their hard work paid off. The fans I talked to personally who go to more of these events than I do said that LOTR are the best convention promoters out there.
I'd also like to thank Kayfabe Commentaries for the beer!
We'll have more on LOTR VI soon.
