International Wrestling Conference results from May 9th
in Ottawa, Kansas Approximate crowd:145
The show opened with a bloodied Justin McIntyre coming to the ring and calling out Kyle "The Glamour" King. Kyle came out and along with his crew, The Power Trip, [Brian Blade, Devan Scott, JC Thunder, and Justin Pain] said that they would continue beating on anyone in their way. Justin called out HIS crew, the New Foundation who rolled into the arena in a military humvee much to the delight of the crowd! The New Foundation [Dekin Cane, Enigma, Dan-O-Mite, Iceman, and Chance Prophet] ran off The Power Trip's members and Justin McIntyre announced that tonight's main event would be a 10-man War Games style match with the sole winner being the #1 seed in the tournament for the vacated IWC heavyweight title!
1st Match
4-way for the IWC No-Limits Title: Iceman V. Brandon Bennett V. Vash Heartly V. CK Vaughn
This match started with bodies flying all over the building very quickly. The Iceman gained the early advantage by hitting a huge somersault off the top to the outside onto the other 3 competitors. Brandon Bennett and Vash Heartly were eliminated simultaneously by CK Vaughn and Iceman, respectively. Vaughn seemed more intent on hitting on the VERY young ladies at ringside than with the Iceman, which cost him the match when Iceman hit the Kryptonite crunch to become the 1st ever IWC No-limits champion!
Winner: Iceman
2nd Match
Tommy Snow V. Brian Jacobs
This match saw Tommy use all of his trademark offense, including the dreaded "Double Purple Nurple", while Brian Jacobs showed off his impressive athleticism. The person most impressed with Brian Jacobs athleticism was Brian Jacobs though. Tommy managed to use his experience to overcome the forceful rookie though with a roll-up.
Winner: Tommy Snow
3rd match
Tribal Warrior Angel V. Symon Frost
Both men were newcomers to the IWC, but the fans definitely took to Angel, as opposed to the smug Frost, who claimed to be a "role model" for the fans of Ottawa. Angel used his power and flexibility to take the fight to Frost in ways I have not really seen before. Frost got the victory here though, by using underhanded tactics, much to the chagrin of the crowd.
Winner: Symon Frost
4th Match
6-man tag: Dekin Cane, Enigma, and Mike Sydal V. Devan Scott, JC Thunder, and Justin Pain
We got to see Mike Sydal in action here, and he definitely has the trademark Sydal athleticism! The veterans beat on Mike and Enigma until Dekin was tagged in and managed to clean house! But JC, Devan, and Justin had too much size, and a willingness to bend the rules, and managed to get the victory in this one.
Winners: JC Thunder, Devan Scott, and Justin Pain
5th Match
Chance Prophet V. Brian Blade
The fans were solidly behind Chance here, and it was easy to see why! This was a hard-hitting match, with Blade working over Chance's shoulder, while the younger Chance tried to overcome the size and power of Blade with speed and innovative moves. Blade became a little too confident in his abilities, and Chance escaped out of a power slam and pinned Blade in the middle of the ring!
Winner: Chance Prophet
6th Match
Kyle "The Glamour" King w/Aaron Adams V. Dan-O-Mite
Dan-O-Mite couldn't have been more popular in his hometown as everyone was on their feet for him when he came out! Kyle came out with a manager who constantly distracted the referee and Dan-O-Mite allowing Kyle to get the cheap victory [with a handful of tights] after taking one heck of a beating from Dan.
Main Event 10-Man War Games Match
Kyle King, Devan Scott, Brian Blade, JC Thunder, and Justin Pain V. Chance Prophet, Dan-O-Mite, Dekin Cane, Enigma, and The Iceman
This match started with 2 men from each team in the ring, and 1 man would enter every minute until all 10 were in the match. At that point, the last man standing would be the #1 seed in the tournament to crown the IWC heavyweight champion! Since Kyle beat Dan-O-Mite earlier, his team would be the first to enter the ring. Well, these guys almost tore down the ring in this one. It seemed like nothing could derail the Power Trip from dominating until Chance Prophet and Dekin Cane started cleaning house! Also, Enigma was flying around the ring with moves that had to be seen to be believed! Dan-O-Mite eliminated Kyle King from the match which received a tremendous ovation from the fans, and Dan-O-Mite went on to win the match and be the sole survivor!
Winner: Dan-O-Mite!
Check out the next IWC show when they invade Fort Scott Kansas May 31st!
