Mike
Tobin
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Since the last time you did an interview with the DOI, your wrestling life has changed dramatically. How does it feel to make the transition from 7 Time USA PW Tag Team Champion, Mike Tobin of the Boogie Knights, to up and comer M-Tizzle?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: To say it has changed an understatement. This past few months have been a whirlwind in my career. The transition has been a very interesting one. I will never forget the seven years Dan and I put into this business together. We came up from the streets from day one and made all of our dreams a reality. It is with his blessing and encouragement that i have started this new chapter. Going from tag team to singles wrestling is never an easy move to make. It is like starting over. I am just not finished with my goals and dreams yet.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Adding on to that, what are your thoughts on Danny Drake, and what did The Boogie Knights mean to you?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: Danny Drake is my best friend in the world. When we met at 17 we swore that one day we would make it into the business. We struggled through outlaw shows, riots, selling tickets, and everything else to make it to where the Boogie Knights will hopefully be remembered fondly by the people who made us. The fans, the boys, and the promoters that allowed us to entertain to the best of our ability.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Since going solo, you've had a handful of high quality matches over in LXW, NYWC, SSCW, WXW and more. What is it like to branch out in new places as a singles wrestler?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: It has been a learning experience to be able to branch out to other companies. Also the fact that those companies have given me a chance to show what I can do as a singles wrestler has allowed me to learn at a faster pace then before.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You have been a long time USA Pro Wrestler. What do you think about the older guys coming in and taking away prominent spots from the regular indy guys? Do you think it benefits the company to have more ECW guys on the shows?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: The older workers are the reason we are there today. I respect anyone who has been there before me. As far as taking away spots, that's really up to the company to decide who they feel will draw the most money at any given time. It helps having talent that the audience is familiar with. I cannot tell you how much I have learned from the ECW vets that we have been around since the company folded in 2001.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What has been your favorite singles match?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: So far I would have to say my match with John Walters in Nov. I was happy that I learned from one of the best out there today. It also gave me a chance to show my wrestling ability.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What's a normal day in the life of M-Tizzle?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: A normal day would be: wake up, watch some footage, go to work, after work to the gym, watch a movie clip or two. Eat, sleep and do it all over again.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You worked a long time in UCW/ICW. What do you think led to the companys downfall, and what were your feelings on working there?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: We always had fun in that company. Jac just made some bad business decisions. We left because after the year we had in 2001. The direction for us was lost. When we came back this past year it was just like old times and was a blast. I was very sad to see the company fold. Jac always treated us good. When Drake got hurt the next day there was a box of tapes and stuff from the store at his house. He should be proud of the product he put out there .
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are the biggest changes in tag team wrestling and singles wrestling?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: Getting blown up quicker!!!!!!! No, it’s a different world. There is no one to tag in and learning to work and build a match on your own is a big challenge.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Everyone knows that M-Tizzle is a huge Macho Man fan. How many times have you listened to his new CD? Why is the Macho Man a huge influence for you?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: I have been a fan of Macho as long as I can remember. The madness is no joke. Let’s put it this way- I can sing “Be A Man” word for word.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Is it true that Jimmy James has a M-Tizzle tattoo?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: I hope not he would sure regret it when he gets older. Ooooooooohhhhhh I got a tizzle tattooooo! He's a nice kid. It’s nice to know I have a fan out there.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You used to work in ROH in the first few shows, and stopped working there after Drake's injury. Is there any chance M-Tizzle will join ROH in the singles ranks?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: Being on the first few ROH shows was a great experience. I never had more fun in a dressing room in my life and anyone who was in that room knows NYC was tight those first few shows. We always wanted to wrestle in Philly. As far as going back, that is up to them. I am trying to make my name and as I get more experienced as a solo wrestler. I would like to test myself at that level. Only time will tell.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Speaking of the past, can you explain to us what exactly happened with XPW and ROH, in concerns to your career? There are rumors that XPW tried to get you off the ROH roster at the time. Can you clarify the situation?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: . Well, I received a call. That was it really. At the time Drake was hurt so we were inactive as a team. So we were in limbo really. I was waiting for my partner to heal up. So It never got past a phone call. It was a surprise that they were interested.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What opponents do you look forward to getting in the ring with?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: . Every opponent really. I look at every match as a learning experience.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What is it like working in WXW?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: . Working for WXW has been the most helpful thing that has happened to me. I appreciate POPS and everyone down there for giving me an opportunity to work. I consider WXW to be like my reeducation to the business They run a great company and I have enjoyed every show I have worked.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What exactly is "Da Man Da Fuck Up Tour", and what places have you toured?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: The MDFU tour 04' is a crew that took me in and came through when I needed family to roll with. Girls behind the counter at McDonalds in PA get scared when the tour rolls in. NYC to PA and all points in between. When we roll up the shit get nuts. Like when we hit Hunts Point.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Recently at the last USA PRO show, your group, Knightlife, brought Mike Kruel back. What the hell was up with that, considering all the crap you put him through? What were you thinking as the angle was going down?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: Well, the people let us know what they thought. I was just trying not to laugh at the signs a drunk Drake had handed the people in the balcony. Knightlife has seen better days. We have some things brewing…
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What is the greatest match or angle you were ever part of, and why did you like it? Like wise what is the worst match or angle you were ever part of and why did you dislike it?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: The Entire KL episode 2 Becky/Billy/Kruel saga. That was the most fun I have ever had bar none. It was built up to the wedding and we turned the elks into the Jerry Springer show. My least favorite was when we were brought to wrestling cage just so someone could say "Bring your hundred pound asses back to Frank Goodman".
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your favorite promotions to work for?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: USAPW is my home fed. I also love working for NYWC, WXW, and SSCW and hope to spread out as much as possible.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What career goals have you attained, and what goals do you want to accomplish?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: I have attained the goals i had as a tag team wrestler. My goal now is to become the best singles worker I possibly can
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Where do you see M-Tizzle in December 2004?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: I see myself at Stans sports bar Yankee stadium premier party for Macho and my debut album "Tizzle Madness”. No, seriously I hope this year I can make a mark in the business.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you want to say to anyone reading this?
“M-Tizzle” Mike Tobin: Thank you for supporting independent wrestling. Without the fans we are nothing. You can visit my new site at www.MTIZZLE.COM (thanks to mk )
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Thanks for this interview Tizzle Madness.
