Questions
1 - What made you decide to get into pro wrestling and
how/where were you trained?
Slyck: I started watching pro
wrestling at 12 years old and thought it was something I would love to do
when I got older. I was trained by Killer Kowalski.
2 - How did you come up with your name?
Slyck:
Tre 'The Smooth Operatin' Gangsta' came up with the name Slyck. I decided to
add it to Wagner Brown.
3 - Tell me about your funniest road story.
Slyck: April and I wrestled for TNA and decided
to get something to eat at Waffle House (which has the best waffles) after the
show. The waitress came over to serve us and after looking at April, then
looking at me, and back to April... the first thing she asked was 'Would
you folks like separate checks?' Have you ever experienced something so
racist that you couldn't believe it? All I could think was... HOLY S**T, THAT
WAS RACIST!!!
4 - Describe your most memorable moment in the business
so far.
Slyck: My most memorable moments so far have
been my 'match of the year candidate' against Dan Maff (we both received a
standing ovation), debuting for Ring of Honor, matches against John Walters,
and obviously wrestling dark matches for WWE.
5 - How do you spend your free time
when not wrestling?
Slyck: I spend most of my free time in school,
the gym, and watching wrestling tapes.
6 - Who are your favorite people to
work with and why?
Slyck: I enjoy working with most
of my opponents but Homicide, Dan Maff, John Walters, and Dylan Kage are
some of my favorites. I like working these guys because we don't have to
talk about sh*t. We discuss a finish and that's it. I wasn't going to answer
this question but the wrestling business has already been exposed, so what am I
really protecting? April (http://www.aprilhunter.com)
and I recently defeated the DRS (who are some of my favorites) for the JAPW tag
titles.
7 - How do you feel about the
Internet's involvement in wrestling?
Slyck: I like the Internet because it's easier
to find info about wrestlers and wrestling shows. I dislike the Internet
because it makes pulling off certain angles difficult.
8 - Do you try to pattern yourself after any wrestler?
Slyck: No. I would like to think that I have my
own style, but I do watch a lot of tapes and take bits and pieces from a bunch
of different wrestlers.
9 - What is the toughest part about being a pro wrestler?
Slyck: That's easy... traveling! I currently
work a lot in the Tri-State area and have to drive back and forth almost every
weekend. If you've kept up with my newsletters, then you know how much of a
bitch those trips can be... thanks to the GW Bridge.
10 - What do you feel makes you stand
out, as compared to other wrestlers?
Slyck: A lot of
wrestlers either have a look or the ability to wrestle. I consider myself to be
one of the few guys who come close to having the total package.
11 - What are your thoughts on the
wrestling business today, as well the state of Indy wrestling?
Slyck:
I love the wrestling business, but it's definitely changed. When I became a
part of it, there was more room for success with three major companies in the
US and plenty of overseas opportunities. Now there's only one major company
with a couple of top notch Independent groups. The business is obviously in a
decline, but I hope that changes soon, so many others and I can live our dream.
I think things will pick up again. Overall the Indy scene isn't doing so well,
but certain groups like ROH, NWA TNA, and JAP are doing well.
12 - Where do you see yourself in the
next 5 to 10 years?
Slyck: That's a good question. I don't know,
but I hope I'm still wrestling and have the ability to continue chasing my
dream or living it with the ones I love!
13 - Any messages for your fans or ones who are just now
being introduced to you?
Slyck: Thank you and I appreciate your support!
14 - Pretend you are an agent. Make a pitch on behalf of
yourself to WWE and TNA.
Slyck: My client
Slyck Wagner Brown has showed interest in working with your respective company.
He comes with 6 years experience, is easy to get along with, loves the
wrestling business, and would love the opportunity to grow with the WWE and/or
TNA. For more info, please visit http://www.SlyckWagnerBrown.com
