Rush Margera

What up DOI fans and welcome to another McInterview. This time I interviewed one of the up and comers on the indy scene, in the name of Rush. Rush has made a few strides on the indy scene and has become one of the regulars on the JAPW roster. In this following politically correct interview, Rush discusses his career and more. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did.
Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Why did you want to become a wrestler?
Rush Margera: I fit the typical story. I loved to watch it when I was young, and I always knew that I wanted to be a wrestler. I found it to be the greatest thing in the world. Everytime I watched it, no matter what age, I escaped reality for that brief time. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: How did you get into pro wrestling and what was it like training? Anything like Tough Enough?
Rush Margera: I started training after I met a wrestler by the name Dave "New Wave" Winant. He brought me and a couple of buddies to BWO and I have been wrestling ever since. i was trained by everyone there Magic, Richie, New Wave, Corvis, and also after the full training, picked up a lot of things in the ring. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You have currently teamed up with the artist formerly known as Roach aka Corvis Fear. How did this tag team come together?
Rush Margera: I have Ray and Frank to thank for that. My first actual match with JAPW was against Corvis and Eddie Thomas at the 6th Anniversary show. The show after, Ray and Frank put us together and so we rolled with it. I am happy we did because I think we mesh well together. Me and Corvis are tight outsde of the ring also, which helps a lot. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You have worked in a handful of NJ promotions. What is your favorite promotion to work for?
Rush Margera: I love wrestling. Period. Wrestling is fun for me. If I had to chose, I would go with my steady shows which are JAPW and SSCW. They both treat us very good and I am happy because they have a fun, family enviornment. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your feelings on Carmine Sabia and do you think it's normal for a promoter not to attend his own shows?
Rush Margera: Carmine and SSCW have never done anything wrong to me. When you were booking for them, to now, everything has been smooth sailing. Carmine is a nice guy to me, when you were there, you were a nice guy to me, and Simon is nice to me. I have no complaints working with them. Carmine has a phobia and I don't like to poke fun of that, I mean I wouldn't make fun of my sister who has a handicapped, and I don't think less of her, so why should I with Carmine? Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What is the best match you've ever had in your career?
Rush Margera: All the matches I have had have been my best. I have learned new things everytime I stepped in a ring... from my first match to my last. I have had a lot of fun working with everyone and I cant wait for many more to come around. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you look to do in every match to get better?
Rush Margera: I always get all my matches on tape, and review them like that. I pick up a lot of things from other people being in the ring, especially my past couple of matches. But I think that I learn more on improving my character and skill by watching my tapes a couple of times and pointing out my mess ups. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You're working for UCW on April 30th. Why is this promotion using the UCW letters when Jac Sabboth already established the UCW brand name not less than 2 years ago?
Rush Margera: My friend came up to me with an idea of running a show in our hometown. I thought it was a great idea, seeing as I thought my entire high school would show up. The fed's name I had no part in making, I did tell him that there was a fed named UCW, but he decided he wanted to use that. I dont know what to think on that situation. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What can we expect from UCW? This is a new promotion and not much is known. Can you shed some light on this?
Rush Margera: UCW is more about younger talent. As you can see on April 30th, the UCW title is going up in a ladder match with 4 cruiserweights. A lot of the names on the show have never been heard before and I think it will help them get some exposure. That is the hope of UCW and well see how everything plays out. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What person in wrestling would you like to slap in the face with all your might?
Rush Margera: Myself, everytime I mess up something... No one really. I didnt get into wrestling for politics or fights, I got into it cause I love it. Maybe things will change down the road, but right now, i see everyone as a bud of mine. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What is the funniest story you've ever had on the road?
Rush Margera: Everytime I am in a car with Corvis is a funny story. Whether we are arguing or getting along it is some of the funniest stuff someone will ever see. I go by the motto you might as well enjoy the brief time on earth, so I try and make every second as fun as possible. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What is the New Reality?
Rush Margera: The New Reality is bascially a group self dubbed "The New Reality of Wrestling" Me and Corvis are the main New Reality and we are trying to bring something new to the table. We want to show everyone what we can do, show them what, I HOPE, they will be seeing a lot of in the future.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who would be your dream opponent?
Rush Margera: Shawn Micheals, Chris Beniot, Late Brian Pillman, and Late Owen Hart Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What is the worst match you ever had and why was it bad?
Rush Margera: I dont think I have had a terrible match, no match is bad to me as long as you learn somethin from it. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What promotions would you like to work for and why?
Rush Margera: I like to work with every promotion because they allow me to fullfill my dream. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What is the best thing about being a wrestler?
Rush Margera: Wow.... never thought about it. I think the best thing about being a wrestler is that i am living the dream. Wrestling is the best sport to me. I have played Football, Basketball, Baseball, Amateuar Wrestling, Hockey, and recieved a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Doe. Nothing has ever amounted to the feeling that I get being in fornt of the fans in the middle of that ring. I cant put my finger on why, but it just is. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What does the future hold for Rush?
Rush Margera: I plan on keep doinf what I am doing and hopefully something good comes out of it. I would be lieing if I said I didnt care if I made it to the WWE, but if I dont I know I tried. I do hope to go to Ring of Honor, NWA-TNA, and I would love to work in Japan. I dont know what the future holds for me, but I know that I will make the most of whatever it does. Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Thanks for this interview and good luck in your bright future.
