What up everyone in DOI land, and welcome to another McInterview here on the DOI site. This time I interviewed Ricky O, promoter of JCW. JCW has seen its ups and downs in the past year, and has seen some controversy. Ricky O was candid and right to the point about everything asked in this interview, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Note: You can check the first interview I did with Ricky at Ricky O's First Interview

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: JCW saw a bad stretch towards the end of 2003, but have recently revitalized themselves with a few 400+ crowd shows. What do you think has caused the improved attendance in 2004?

Ricky O: We just returned to solid promoting practices and hard work. We now have a set list of buildings lined up and we are going back to what should be every fed’s top priority: making people want to come back for more.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Bob Cassidy, your partner for a period of time in JCW, left the company at the end of 2003. Can you describe your relationship with him? Why do you think Bob left? What were the positives and negatives of working with Bob?

Ricky O: Bob was a good friend and things just turned bad. Out of respect for him I would rather just leave this issue at that.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You have recently gotten into a verbal battle with SSCW Promoter, Carmine Sabia Jr. What has caused this tiff and rivalry? Why do you think Carmine Sabia needs to tell you that he has bbq's that outdraw JCW, when your crowds have been bigger than his?

Ricky O: Carmine who? Oh, yeah. That guy. LOL. Carmine had a great thing while people like you (The MiC) did all the work. JCW has been here for 5 years and is going strong. In SSCW’s history they have cancelled more shows than they have run and that is documented fact. Enough said.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your opinions on the competition in NJ?

Ricky O: JAP is great. Ray and Frank are funny as hell and put on great shows. NWS/NWA are great friends and do the same style shows as JCW – family friendly. CSWF is what it is. They are trying very hard and I wish them the best of luck.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What promotions outside of JCW do you like to follow?

Ricky O: FIPW in Florida is building a huge following and they have a working agreement with JCW. I follow ECWA because anything Jim Kettner does is simply amazing.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What people in wrestling would you like to slap in the face?

Ricky O: Besides the shut-in, nobody.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: In recent times, you have made some negative statements about Noel. What are your feelings on Noel today, and do you think she's a positive asset to the wrestling business?

Ricky O: Noel was a one night wonder. Her skills within the business were OK and she tried hard, but (and this is a big but) her personal life needs major fixing before wrestling should even be considered an option. I wish her and her family all the best. She was great at times, but was a major headache at others.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: JCW has seen a roster change. What are the chances of seeing the following people come back:

Ricky O:
John Shane – always welcome
DRS – back soon
Solution – someday for sure
Grim Reefer – great skills, for sure
Dan Barry – see Reefer
Deranged – see Reefer
Devin Sturgis - Never
Noel - Nope
Dirty Money – yes, for sure
Los Boriquas – The Dudley of JCW…of course
Taylor from Tough Enough – she still works?

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: The J-Cup returns for the 5th time on June 27, 2004. What can we expect?

Ricky O: The biggest and best show ever from JCW. With names like B-Boy, Super Dragon, Scorpio Sky, Altar Boy Luke, Striker…it’s sure to be great.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: The J-Cup has a rich history. Which is your favorite J-Cup?

Ricky O: J-Cup 3 was my favorite by far. The New Jersey debuts of AJ Styles, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, American Dragon. The show was amazing top to bottom.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Jay Lethal was recently stripped as JCW TV champion. Why is Jay Lethal gone? How do you feel about Jay Lethal considering he was the JCW TV champion and 2003 J-Cup Winner?

Ricky O: I love Jay and his family. It was his choice to leave and I feel he made a huge career mistake. He told me ROH is the only fed that means anything to him. Well, JCW and JAP pushed the shit out of him and that is just an ingrate thing to say.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What promoters or wrestlers do you believe don't belong in the wrestling business?

Ricky O: Everyone can belong but some need to just open their eyes and realize they’re better off in the crowd. However, the one that needs to kill himself is already locked up tight.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You have taken alot of criticism for allowing your friendships with Dave Greco and Shawn Sheridan to influence JCW business. What are your feelings on both of these guys and why do you feel that people pick on that issue?

Ricky O: Greco and SH3 are awesome talents that go the extra mile for JCW. Greco forgot more about this business than most of us ever know. Shawn is the next Candido/Corino. The guy is all personality and loyal to the company. If having a loyal staff makes certain mark promoters fake post, so be it.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: IHPW is returning soon. What are your thoughts on Peter Ferriero and his promotion?

Ricky O: Pete is a really good guy with a lot of class. I wish him the best and he knows I am here to help if he needs it.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: CSWF has started to make strides on the indy scene. What are your thoughts on them and Dave Levy? Do you really owe Dave Levy a bullrope?

Ricky O: CSWF is what it is – a fed trying its best to make it. New Jersey is a tough area to promote in because there are so many feds. I have Dave’s rope somewhere, and I will give it back to him when he stops calling up my buildings.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You recently have made amends with Frank Goodman of USA PW. What are your thoughts on Goodman and USA PW? Are you a Maniac-a-holic?

Ricky O: Frank is the man – pure balls out no nonsense. Look how he handles people. Yes, I am a Maniac-a-holic.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your opinions on the whole NWA NJ issue?

Ricky O: None, really. Gino and Joe own it.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Would you consider the John Shane-Jay Lethal and Los Problemas/Solution/DRS some of the best angles in JCW? What angles do you think have been some of the best in JCW?

Ricky O: Lo Ki vs. Little Guido was good back in the day. DRS-Solution was great and so was Lethal and his mother vs. John Shane and Livewire. That was the best ever by far. The Moondogs 200 vs. Da Hit Squad was also a great feud.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What angles in JCW do you think totally suck?

Ricky O: Ryan Wing’s mom in J-Cup 1 was laughable. Evil Bandido was the pure shits. Devin Sturgis’ impromptu shoot on internet reporters was totally uncalled for and unnecessary. Noel trying to be Francine was really, really bad.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Is the $5000 fight between you and Carmine ever going to happen?

Ricky O: Nope, he is a shut-in with absolutely no accountability. He is a total pussy who stirs things up from his bedroom, and things will never change in his world.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who would you consider the best wrestlers in JCW right now?

Ricky O: Candido, Slyk, Ace, Striker – all top shelf.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What can we expect from JCW in future shows?

Ricky O: We are going back to major angles and fun. No more internet crap…we are going back to how we used to run things back in the day. Again, fun stuff is what we want to do.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Do you feel that the shows in JCW as of late haven't been as strong wrestling wise as they once were?

Ricky O: Yes and no. Yes because of no-shows and double and triple shots. No because a lot of newer faces have been able to break back onto the roster.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your opinions on Jac Sabboth?

Ricky O: Jac is Jac. No hard feelings anymore.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your opinions on the whole Kevin Matthews/urinating on the SSCW title situation? Do you feel that Kevin has betrayed you by dropping JCW for SSCW?

Ricky O: No, he drank the SSCW Kool-Aid. He left 500 fans wanting more to work in front of 20.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Why do you feel Noel deleted the JCW Website?

Ricky O: She did it because she could. LOL. She was a great webmaster and an average valet.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Simon Diamond, formerly a booker for JCW has joined SSCW. What are your thoughts on Simon Diamond? Why did he leave JCW? How long do you think Simon will last in SSCW?

Ricky O: Simon is pure class, a great mind, and smarter than all of us by getting major money from SSCW for just showing up and wrestling in front of the dozen people that stay for the main event.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Recently JCW has gotten themselves involved with LXW and FIPW in Florida. What led to the meeting of these three groups? What can we expect from this arrangement?

Ricky O: FIPW brought us down to Florida and treated us like pure gold. We built a strong relationship. LXW has helped us book the J-Cup 5.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What people would you like to bring into JCW that haven't worked for JCW?

Ricky O: I can’t wait for Super Dragon, plus I found a lot of talent in Florida that will be over huge in JCW like Kahagas.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What people will never be back in JCW?

Ricky O: Chris Adams, and the others you can figure out.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who do you think the favorite is to win this years J-Cup?

Ricky O: Come out and see for yourself. E-mail me who you like at mrjcw@optonline.net.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Are you really Fecal Threats?

Ricky O: I only shit on SSCW, not floors. However, I did shit at Friday’s and not in the bathroom.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Where is Ricky O and JCW at this time next year?

Ricky O: We will be back at the top of the NJ indies where we belong.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you want to say to anyone reading this?

Ricky O: Guys, I still love the fake posts and DOI as a whole. Keep up the good work and fun and please give JCW a shot June 27th at the J-Cup.
