Rob Feinstein, recieving an award for ROH before leaving ROH

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: After the Perverted Justice story broke, what was your initial reaction? How did you handle it? What did you do? Were you afraid of going out in public?

Rob Feinstein: I was outraged that this website ruined my name. I wanted to find out who was responsible. Do you know the next day, NBC tried to track me down as I was driving after lunch? They had the reporter holding pictures of me with wrestlers out the car window as they were chasing me. I was very nervous to go out in public. I did not know what to expect from anyone who saw it and that turned out to be everyone. People that I saw on a daily basis outside of my work would ask me about it in a polite way. Almost all of them saw the truth and they all read the chat and saw I was set up. People that know me knew it was bullshit. My head was spinning from everything for a while. My lifestyle changed from where I would go to everyday.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Who was in the silver Lexus with you on the day of your incident?

Rob Feinstein: Time to kill the rumors. It was a personal friend of mine. He is not in the wrestling business. No one in the wrestling business would know his name.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Here is your chance to dispel the rumors- Are you a pedophile?

Rob Feinstein: No I am not.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What has it been like living your life after being portrayed as an alleged pedophile?

Rob Feinstein: Well I was nervous for a while to even get my mail at my own house. I got really paranoid about who I would run into. People would ask me about it at the gym. I was nervous to go anywhere where I thought people knew me. It sucked for a few months. After I made my rounds and did my daily routine for a few weeks everything got quiet again. I will NEVER be able to escape the thought of what happened to me. My name will always be damaged just like people in the WWE. I am not making any comparisons, but when you think of certain people you think of certain words.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How many people swore off talking to you since the story broke?

Rob Feinstein: Well let’s just say this, I found out real quick who my real friends were. I was told by two people that in a short period of time, I would learn who my true friends were. There are so many fake people in this world Sean. Some of my so called friends liked to use me for everything I was worth. There are people that just want money from you and will tell you what they think you want to hear. They lie to you and feed your ego. They are called yes men and are all smoke and mirrors. Then there are people with huge egos that just want to be in spotlight because they know without you they are nothing in life but dirty degenerates. They claim to be your friend, but in the back of your mind you are calling them a user. They hang onto to you until something better comes along.

Some friends did not even have the balls to swear me off, because they had no other friends. These are the friends that would hang with you everyday, just to see what you had planned for the future. They were total fake and nerdy. They would just talk to you because they wanted to pick your brain. I was onto the those kind of friends real quick, and I worked them along the way, like the marks they were. I was able to see through so many of my fake friends real quick. Looking back on it now, these people were all depending on myself, to live their life through me, because they had no life of their own.

Your true real friends are your family and a few others that your lucky to be close with. I am lucky that I have some real friends outside of my family. People that do not lie to you. I consider my freinds people that have stayed by my side through thick and thin. I have done alot for so many people and there are alot of ungrateful people in this world. But I am so much better now that I got rid of those fake people that swore me off.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you think was the biggest mistake you made in this whole incident with PJ?

Rob Feinstein: Trusting anyone in this world. People are fake and will lie to you so they can get what they want from you.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How much do you regret meeting at someone’s house, rather than a public place?

Rob Feinstein: I was not worried about my safety. It was stupid thinking back on it now because there are alot of wackos out there. I heard that some guy invited someone he met off line and when the person got to the house he shot him with a shotgun. I don’t think the location really made a difference. It was just something that was stupid and I will never meet anyone outside of my circle of friends.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You have been a proven success in the wrestling business, which resulted in you gaining some "haters". Do you think your situation was fueled even more by people who were jealous of you?

Rob Feinstein: Hell yea I do. I went from being hated on the internet by a bunch of people to be loved for creating something special. Then after this happened I was the biggest heel again. This gave so many people the perfect excuse just to hate me again. It also gave certain people leverage and they used that leverage to do things to me. I believe in Karma now and I hope they do as well.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: It is known that there is a gag order between you and Ring of Honor, as well as Ring of Honor employees. Is there anything you can say about the way you were treated by ROH? How do you feel about being removed out of your own company?

Rob Feinstein: You just said it yourself. I can’t talk about anyone there. Sorry

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You built ROH from scratch by spreading the word through your RF Video mailing list. How does it feel knowing that you are not allowed back in the company you founded and created?

Rob Feinstein: To be honest I don’t look at it like that. I know that myself and Doug are the brainchild behind that and we will be able to do it again from scratch. We have a great idea for our next project. Everything happens for a reason.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Now that your sexuality has been made public, do you think it will affect the way people treat you when you start up a new promotion?

Rob Feinstein: The one thing is that people assume I am gay. I am just an open minded person Sean. I like who ever I like. I do not label myself at all. I see myself with a family and wife one day to be honest with you. I look at people for who they are not what they are. I really don’t think it will effect my new promotion at all. My sexuality has nothing to do with the way I conduct business. I was always a professional with anyone and my track record speaks for itself. In fact I have talked to 90% of the guys and they cant wait for another place to work.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What is the status of your lawsuit against Perverted Justice and NBC 10?

Rob Feinstein: I am not a lawyer so I can’t comment on it. I am doing everything that I can do now to get justice.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your thoughts about your friend, Doug Gentry, getting let go from ROH despite not being involved any activity?

Rob Feinstein: No comment. Doug is the best friend I have ever had. I have known him forever. There is not one person who has a bad thing to say about this guy. He goes out of his way for you no matter who you are. There is not one person in that locker room who did not like Doug. Doug was not the kind of guy that needed to be all over the internet for his ideas. He did not need to do interviews on websites to put himself over. He knows what he is capable of and does not need to shove his name down your throat. He would do anything for you if you were in trouble. He has no ego at all and did not get any credit that he deserved. He has come up with so many of the concepts that are going on today. Doug’s work on the videos and DVD's are amazing. I am glad he stuck with me because together our team will be a success.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on the current ROH product today?

Rob Feinstein: I only know what I read and don't care. I am moving onto bigger things.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: After the incident, this past spring, you said, you were still a part of ROH, despite Gabe of ROH saying you were out of ROH. Did you think it was obvious to the fans that you were involved all along?

Rob Feinstein: No comment. You don’t call the fans Smart Marks for nothing do you??

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on Samoa Joe saying he'd melt the ROH Title into a golf club if he found out you were involved? Do you think he is a liar?

Rob Feinstein: I like Samoa Joe but as far as I know he hates me for what ever reason. I never did anything to this guy ever. I always got along good with him at the shows. I called him a few times so we could talk but he will not talk to me, which is ok. He is entitled to his opinion of me. When he said it, I think it was the heat of the moment kind of deal. He did wish me to be found dead which I think sucks. I still would like to talk to Joe even if it’s over a game of golf. I like Joe and I have nothing to say bad about him. His work speaks for itself. I still would talk to him if he would call me.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on Danny Maff and Allison Danger?

Rob Feinstein: I like Danny Maff. He is the real deal. I always got along great with Danny. If I had my choice he would be a champion. This guy has it all. I know what he said and at the time he never heard my side. He has kids and all. He is allowed to be mad at me. I never read what Allison wrote because so many people jumped on me with out hearing my story. I could not talk for a long time and that was not my choice. Allison tries to god dam hard in the ring and I give her credit for trying to learn her trade. The one thing I was mad with Alison about was at my office she told me a week later after it broke that she wished I got help for my problem. What was I to say to her at that point. I just bit my lip and walked away. People need to open their minds but at the time that is all she knew and thought I was guilty. She might even still think I am which is her opinion. I hear things from people when they travel and I know how people think about me. But I like her as a person and like I said you are entitled to think what you want.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What wrestlers have been the most supportive to you during one of the worst periods of your life?

Rob Feinstein: Tommy Dreamer and Raven are my two closest friends in wrestling. I have known Tommy forever and he’s the one guy next to Doug I consider a true friend. He talked me thru so much of this because at times I wanted to die in a way. Raven, as well, would call me every other day and keep my laughing. He told me I would be back and just wait out the storm. I got calls from so many other veterans that I knew all supporting me. I know who wrote that letter to the Observer, from what people told me, and you would be surprised if I showed who it was. Teddy Hart, no matter what the fans think of him is a caring guy. He drove with Jack Evans to my house the week after this went down at like 3AM, just to check on me. He not only came over that time, but a few others as well and we talk on a weekly basis. The one thing that is sad is that so many of the guys that I helped out, will talk to me but they won’t let it be known. They talk to me but then they say “hey we never talked right?” They think that their spot will get taken away or they will get punished for talking to me. The one thing that I did learn also is that people don’t remember what you did for them in the past. They only think about what you can do for them today or the future.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What promotions have you been keeping up on today?

Rob Feinstein: I watch everything but the WWE. I can’t watch it anymore. I love PWG in CA as they have some great guys out there. I think they can really made a dent out there. They have a good thing going. I also am keeping a close eye on Dory Funks stuff. They also have a great thing going down in FL. I can’t tell you when I watched anything from Japan. I have stuff sitting in my car from 3 months ago that I want to watch and I have not had the time.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How has RF Video's business been recently?

Rob Feinstein: It has been great. We just put out our first update in 8 months. We are working on so many new projects with alot of new promotions. We just did a bunch of new shoots and I am looking at my list we should have around 15 new ones by Xmas. We also have some major plans to release alot of our shoots onto DVD. I am so glad that I got this fire lit under me, because all I do now is work from 9AM till 11PM sometimes. I am at the office making deals with other promoters or working on new ideas. We have a new concept also that we will be doing somewhere down the line. The company is on fire but it was slow back when the story first broke.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You have recently been showing up at some conventions, and plan on attending some shows in the North East. So far how has the reception been to you, and do you have any fears of being attacked or mocked?

Rob Feinstein: There is always a fear of being attacked but I carry protection. Not one person has mocked me. I get alot of hugs from people. This week in NJ someone was like “thank god you’re back.” I know that there will be one person out there that will try to mock me or hit me to make a name for themselves. I am expecting that to happen. I would like to think that people are smarter than that. I was very nervous going to the shows but everything went well. I am just glad to be back around the business that I love.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How much does it pain you to stay home when your creation, ROH runs shows?

Rob Feinstein: At first it did, now it’s like no big deal anymore. I am just sitting back and watching and taking in everything. This has opened up many doors for me that I would not have been able to do there. I am just planning right now for our next project. There is room for alot of promotions and the ones who will win will be the fans.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Do you think people will mess with your new promotion if you do one?

Rob Feinstein: Of course I do, but they will just ruin it for the other fans and take money away from the wrestlers. I also see other promoters that do not want me to start to run, out of fear of doing the same thing. We will be prepared for that when that happens. I have great lawyers and if any promoter wants to take money away from a worker, than they better think twice if the story gets out.

I know there are going to be certain people out there that do not want me to restart something. It might be certain promoters and bookers. They know what we are capable of so they will do all they can do to try to get buildings not to let us run shows. I have already talked with my lawyers about this. There are ways to find out who made the phone calls through phone companies. People also like to hide behind the computer, but believe it or not, there are ways to trace IP numbers. There are also other methods to reveal identities of mysterious posters. I actually have several cases that are going on as we speak. Certain people are posting stuff on message boards about me that is not true. Right now, we are just collecting all of it to build up a case. They people I'm referring to know who they are. It is called slander when you accuse someone of something in print and I have been slandered on many websites. People need to think about what they are doing to someone before they print it.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: AJ Styles, Low Ki, Chris Daniels, Samoa Joe and others are wrestlers who really broke out because of ROH. Who do you see as the next crop of break out stars?

Rob Feinstein: CM Punk and Homicide should be on that list as well. They are awesome. I think that Dan Maff, BJ, Austin Aries, The Havana Pitbulls, and Roderick Strong, all of these guys have it to be huge. Chris Hero is also a future superstar. Petey Williams is also on my list. Watch in the next few months they will be somewhere. I don’t know why people do not use B Boy and Teddy more often as well.
