As part of our on-going 2007 ECWA Super 8 coverage, the DOI will be interviewing all eight Super 8 competitors in this year's tournament. Our interview today is none other than Chaotic Wrestling stand-out, Matt Logan. Matt Logan is 1/2 of the Logan Brothers tag team, where he tags with his brother Bryan.

With less than a month ago, find out who Matt Logan is and his thoughts on the Super 8 tournament.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Hey Matt, it's a pleasure to have you on the DOI. My first question for you is what was going through your head when you were called by Jim Kettner to see if you were available for this year's Super 8 tournament?

Matt Logan: I was extremely honored and excited when I was asked to participate in the Super 8. The thing that made me most proud was the fact that I am mainly a tag team wrestler (along with my brother Bryan) and I was asked to be in the most prestigious singles tournament on the independent scene.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What does the Super 8 tournament mean to you? Is there any tournaments that stick out in your head?

Matt Logan: The Super 8 is simply the best tournament in independent wrestling. I always hear about other wrestling promotions trying to hold tournaments, but the fact is the Super 8 is the most well-known, established wrestling tournament there is.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: For fans who don't know you, what are some of the promotions you have worked for?

Matt Logan: I wrestle mainly for Chaotic Wrestling out of North Andover, Massachusetts. I got my training from their school, the Chaotic Training Center. I have also been a part of the ECWA for almost 3 years now. I have wrestled for a bunch of other promotions, some of which include NECW, EPW, NRG, MWF, and EWA just to name a few.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who has been a positive influence in your career?

Matt Logan: My brother Bryan and I have always been big fans of the Rockers. We've always loved watching their fluidity together and the innovative double team moves they'd come up with. On a personal level, another positive influence since I started with the ECWA in February of 2005 is Ace Darling. I have become really close with him since then and he has so much usefull knowledge. I would also have to say my brothers, Bryan and Nick, are both positive influences.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Would you like to wrestle anyone specifically at this year's Super 8? Is there anyone you think you don't match up well with?

Matt Logan: Jerry Lynn has always been one of my favorites, so wrestling him would be an honor. I have already wrestled Billy Bax, Rob Eckos, and Brian Fury before and know that I can have a good match with any of them. The other 3 competitors I'm not too familiar with, but either way we'll just have to wait and see.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: With DVDs highlighting promotions all over the world and an abundance of promotions doing tournaments seemingly every week, do you think the Super 8 tournament means as much as it used to?

Matt Logan: Yes, I do. I think it still has the credibility it's had since its inception, and I can't wait to take part in it.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: In your opinion, what matches of yours are your favorite? Are there any matches that you think made ECWA promoter Jim Kettner say, "I need him for this year's Super 8?"

Matt Logan: 2 of my favorite matches in the ECWA took place in the same night-one was against my good friend Chase Del Monte and the other against my brother Bryan. I also recently took part in a 5-of-a-kind match last month involving me, Bryan, Rob Eckos, Billy Bax, and El Trouble which was one of my favorite matches I've been involved in. I don't think there were any matches in particular that made Jim Kettner want to use me for the Super 8. I pride myself on being the type of wrestler who can have a good solid match with anybody on the roster, not the type who needs to be put with the right person in order to have a good match. I think that has something to do with me being chosen for the tournament.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Working primarily in New England, do you find any differences between New England fans and NY/NJ/PA fans?

Matt Logan: I can't really say, having only wrestled in New York a couple times and having never wrestled in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Are you physically prepared to go three matches in the Super 8 tournament?

Matt Logan: I feel like I'm in the best shape of my career. I have recently been watching my diet more carefully and doing a lot more cardio. I have leaned up quite a bit and don't plan on stopping until November 10th!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What's a normal day in the life of Matt Logan?

Matt Logan: Eat, gym, work, sleep. Pretty standard I guess.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your short-term and long-term career goals?

Matt Logan: Short term: I am just going to continue to stay in ring shape, and try to sharpen my in-ring skills as best I can. Long term: I would like to make a living off of wrestling some day.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Is there anything you want to say to anyone reading this?

Matt Logan: Just for those people attending the Super 8 and for everyone who's helped me out in wrestling, I guarentee I will not let you down on November 10th!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Thank you for your time and good luck on 11/10.
