JAY STATIC McINTERVIEW

I was able to catch up with rising star Jay Static recently, as Jay Static is the latest wrestler to do a McInterview. Jay Static has been around the indy scene for some time, competing all over the northeast. At a young age, Jay has several WWE shots under his belt, in addition to his impressive indy resume. In the following interview, Jay talks about his career, his future, and more. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Hey Jay, thanks alot for doing this interview. My first question for you is how did you get into the pro wrestling business and what was your training like?

Jay Static: Thank you for having me! I first got started in the business when I enrolled into the LIWF DOGHOUSE and did most of my training with Laithon aka TOT. Training was pretty intense, but definitely needed to start your career on the right foot.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who are some people who've helped you along your way? Has anyone gone out of their way to hurt your career?

Jay Static: A person who has helped me along the way was definitely Justin Cage. Justin helped me in the beginning talking for me for promoters to give me the chance to get on shows. As for people trying to hurt me so far so good (lol) I think sometimes I'm too quiet in the back, but I am respectful to all.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You've recently had some WWE try-outs and dark matches. What was that like?

Jay Static: I am very thankful so far for all the opportunities I was given with the WWE. I have been to 14 WWE tapings , competing in 5. It's an undescribable rush. There is no one bigger than them and you get the chance to be a part of that. It's an honor and right now I'm fighting for a shot to land a job.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on the indy scene today?

Jay Static: A place where you make things happen. A window of opportunity to fulfill your dreams no matter what fed on a Saturday night. It's on the job training for me I love it, and am addicted to it. Just make the best of it and have fun.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on wrestlers who spend more time on the computer than they do in the gym?

Jay Static: The computer is a great place to keep up with everything, but the gym will bring out acouple of things. First your athletic skills of strength, speed, and endurance. Also the "look", that everybody talks about.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who have been some of your favorite opponents?

Jay Static: Let me think (lol) Justin Cage, Reefer, Striker, Glenn Gilberti, are some off the top of my head! Alot of different styles and builts to go through.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your thoughts on smart mark wrestling? Do you think some smart mark wrestling lacks pyschology as sometimes it gets too spotty?

Jay Static: Spotty might look fancy, but it's important to show reality in a match. Go out and just wrestle!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: For people who don't know you, what would you say your character is? What exactly is a Jay Static?

Jay Static: Jason Static goes as being an up and comer that will do anything for a (w)! Not being the high flyer , but I could get the job done. I'm the Brad Pitt of professional wrestling. the excellence of electricity, ripped and vascular, plain out the best body in the business!!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What indy promotions have you worked for that you enjoyed working for? Are there any indy promotions that you didn't like working for?

Jay Static: NWA WILDSIDE, NWS, TOP ROPE PROMOTIONS, DCW, BWO, VPW, MCW are some of my favorites.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What promotion would you consider your home promotion?

Jay Static: MCW for sure has been very welcoming for me.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What indy wrestlers are you a fan of? What indy wrestlers aren't you a fan of?

Jay Static: Tom Carter, Josh Daniels, John Walters are a few.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Do you think the wrestling business will be better off 5 years from now or worse 5 years from now?

Jay Static: With TNA rising hopefully better.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What's a normal day in the life of Jay Static?

Jay Static: Really simple 10 hours managing a gym and 2 hours of training 5 days a week. Hard work and dedication towards my dreams.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your career goals? Have you accomplished any yet?

Jay Static: My major goal is to land a contract with a major organization and shoot for the sky. A goal recently accomplished was having an article on me in THE WRESTLER and INSIDE WRESTLING. Making the PWI 500!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What's one thing people should know about Jay Static?

Jay Static: I am a hard worker, not a quitter!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you want to say to anyone reading this?

Jay Static: Thanks for the support!! Peace!!
