LEXIE FYFE

What up boys and girls and welcome to another DOI McInterview. Today I interviewed international womens superstar, Lexie Fyfe. Lexie has honed her craft in Europe and all over the United States, plus other territories. Read what Lexie has to say about her career and more. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: How did you get into pro wrestling?

Lexie Fyfe: In 1995, I met Brandi Wine and she was looking for a training partner. I thought it would be a fun thing to do and so I started training. I really liked it and started getting more bookings until finally I quit my "real" job and wrestled full time.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What was your training like?

Lexie Fyfe: It was tough because neither Brandi or I had any clue on how to do any moves. We were like a train wreck most of the time! I just kept trying and plugging along. I learned the basics at Ken Spence's school in Winston-Salem, NC and then went on to the OMEGA camp in Vass, NC.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What wrestlers were you a fan of growing up? Which wrestlers didn't you like?

Lexie Fyfe: George "the Animal" Steele always scared me!! I liked the Ultimate Warrior when I was really young because of the way he ran around.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: You are the UCW, IZW, LAW and FCW women champion. You've also won other titles as well. What does it feel like to be a champion, and to know that a promoter has enough faith to let you be on top of the division?

Lexie Fyfe: It's a good feeling to know that they have confidence in you to defend the belt the way they want it to be promoted. I like the way the fans react to it also.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What other indy women wrestlers are you a fan of? WWE women wrestlers?

Lexie Fyfe: There are a lot of good women wrestlers out there now. Alexis Laree, Jillian Hall, Brandi Alexander, Tracy Brooks, Brandi Wine, Little Jeanne, Malia Hosaka, I could go on. The scene is a lot better than when I first broke into the business. The WWE women have really stepped it up over the last year or so. I enjoy watching their matches a lot now.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you think about the T and A in wrestling today? Do you think it hurts taking real women wrestling seriously?

Lexie Fyfe: I think people still take real women wrestlers serious. What hurts is when they try to get the wrestlers to do T & A spots. People forget that they can actually wrestle when they get stuck in those storylines.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Do you follow Japanese women wrestling, and if so, what do you like/dislike about their styles?

Lexie Fyfe: I do watch a lot of it. I like the moves and the energy of their matches. I don't know how some of them walk away from their matches!!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Who would be your dream opponent?

Lexie Fyfe: I've never wrestled Jazz and I would absolutely love that!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Do you have a prematch superstitions?

Lexie Fyfe: I say a prayer before going out to the ring.

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your favorite promotions to work for and why? Least favorite?

Lexie Fyfe: I love working in a lot of promotions. My least favorite are the couple that didn't pay me!!!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you think has been your best match? Lexie Fyfe: Wow- best match...hmmm....I really liked my matches that I had in Europe against Wendi Richter. I've had some really good matches with Macaela Mercedes (Jillian Hall) that I love too. Ask me again in a couple of weeks. I have a full schedule of new ladies that I haven't wrestled yet!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What are your short term and long term career goals?

Lexie Fyfe: Just to have as many good matches I can. I love to wrestle and want to keep doing it for as long as I feel I'm up to it. Staying healthy is a definite goal!!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: What do you want to say to anyone reading this?

Lexie Fyfe: Check out my site and come see me at a live show near you!!

Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: Thank you for this interview.
