EC
Negro
Hey everyone today, “The MiC” has interviewed, one half of not only the JAPW PRO WRESTLING tag team champions, but one half of the JCW Tag Team Champions. This man’s name is EC NEGRO.
The Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz, or DRS, are one of the hottest tag teams on the indy scene. They have worked for SSCW SSCW , USA PRO, JCW, JAPW, as well as many others. The next big DRS match is upcoming March 8th, 2003 for USA PRO, when they take on the Maximo Brothers/SAT in a Ladder match for the USA tag belts.
If you haven’t seen the DRS wrestle yet, you’re missing something. If you have seen the DRS wrestle, then you will understand why this interview is important for wrestling fans.
I found this interview very informative and hopefully you will enjoy it, as much as I did conducting it. Now let’s get into the interview, with one of the hottest wrestlers today, EC NEGRO.
Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey (From now on “The MiC”): How did you get your break in the business?
EC Negro ½ of the DRS (From now on “EC”): Well it goes like this, before me and my partner were trained we did backyard wrestling in a place, infamous, in nyc called the doghouse (refered to later on as DH), and we did that for a year or 2 then our trainer said he needed some guys to do the pro shows and took the best guys from the backyard group out and trained us and put us in pro shows. So i guess my break came when i found the dh
MiC: We all know Homicide is your trainer. How is it working with him? Was it anything like Tough Enough? Was he more of a drill sergeant trainer or a fatherly figure trainer?
EC: Homicide is the coolest guy in the business, he’s a trainer friend and father figure to all his students, if you asked the hitsquad or if you asked deranged they all would say the same thing, he picks his students, he sees something in them and tries to exploit it. Training with him is hard ,he expects you to give 100%. I wouldnt say it was like tough enough, I’d say it was alot better, he trained us from footwork to psychology to knowing the business. Without him we would be nowhere
MiC: Moving on, after training, where was your first match? Also who was your first opponent, and what was going through your head?
EC: Well we trained and did the pro shows as we trained, the dh was the stepping stone to getting in the indies, in a way it was our developmental territory. My 1st match in the LIWF(the fed that was located in the dh) was against Wrecka. I was nervous , but at the same time ready
MiC: For the record, how'd you do that match? (win/lose)
EC: I won the LIWF Televison title, I knocked out Wrecka with the Brolic buffalo legdrop
MiC: You won a title in your first match? Not too many wrestlers have done that. You started off as a singles wrestler. So what the fans want to know is how you hooked up with KC Blade and how the Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz were formed
EC: Well from the begining me and kc blades have always crossed paths. The 1st day I went to the dh the 1st person I met was kc blade. In the backyards and the LIWF we were always paired to fight 1 another. People seemed to really enjoy our matches. One day I was talking to him and said instead of us fighting one another, why don’t we team up. He thought about it and seemed to think it was a gr8 idea. At that time he was teaming up with low life louie they were called the brothers. So basically after 1 more singles match I attacked louie and he came out to make the save but he hit louie with a chair forming the drs.
MiC: So the DRS have been around since the beginning of your pro careers... moving on... can you comment about the war you guys are having with the SAT over in USA Pro?
EC: The sats are pieces of damn trash. I hate those 2 mexicans. The 1st 2 matches we had with those jerks they cheated. I saw one of the Maximos slipping a 100 dollar bill to the ref in the back b4 the show. As far as the matches go they are real competitive, the fans seem to really enjoy the feud. They generate a lot of heat.
MiC: That Sean Hanson really is a jerk, I saw him at Red Lobster after the show, that explains the payoff! What can we expect when the DRS and the SAT go to the extreme in a ladder match, MARCH 8th, at the Elks Lodge
EC: March 8th you can expect the drs to make history , EC Negro and KC Blade will win the ladder match and end the careers of the sat. You’re going to see alot of vicious stuff, as two tag teams who really don’t like each other fight for the USA pro tag team champions. Expect anything because anything can happen when we get out hands on those idiots
MiC: I am looking forward to that. Either way the fans are treated to career suicide! Moving on what is the best promotion you have worked for and why? And on that, what is the worst promotion you have worked for and why?
EC: We really enjoy working for all the feds we wrestle for, i really enjoy JAPW, JCW, USA, etc.... right now we are at a stage where we cant say there are bad feds, maybe feds that we don’t like the way they are run, but bad feds no
BULLSMC: Who is your favorite opponent/team to wrestle? On the flipside, who is a wrestler that you dread seeing on the other side of the ring?
EC: we have a few favorite opponents, i really enjoyed working homicide, the hitsquad, sat, prince nana. Anyone who you can learn from, I really don’t want to ever fight the yeti he scares me. Honestly though the drs aint scared of no one. We want to prove why we are the best team in the history of wrestling.
MiC: Growing up, who were some of your favorite wrestlers? What wrestlers inspired you to become a wrestler? Flipside, who was a wrestler that you watched and said damn this guy sucks, and I can out do that?
EC: Growing up I liked alot of different wrestlers, my favorite of all time is 2 cold scorpio. i also liked bob backlund and hulk hogan, roddy piper and ric flair. Guys who made wrestling, or its pioneers. I thought the bezerker was horrible, I could put on a helmet and do better.
MiC: I agree, personally Bastion Booger was my favorite wrestler, and he never got the shot he deserved.
MiC: What can we expect from Becky Bayless in the DRS? How did Becky Bayless get into the DRS fold? And how can you guys walk around with tag titles proudly when Becky Bayless blatantly interfered in your match!
EC: Let me tell you something about the drs, we roll with the best in the business, that’s why we hired ms bayless, she’s sexy she’s smart and she’s got what it takes to be with us. When your the best in the business you can do what you want and the drs are the best. I don’t see how you can say ms bayless helped the drs . Me and my partner manhandled mafia. We never needed anyone’s help
EC: Plus, we won those belts because we are the best
MiC: I won't argue with that, but I noticed at the last JAPW show, that KC Blade had his eye on her, and I saw you staring as well, could Becky Bayless cause jealousy among the team, if you or your partner couldn't have her to himself?
EC: The relationship between us and ms bayless is strictly business. Everything in life is business. Remember, you will benefit from everything in someway
MiC: Hmmm... interesting, we'll see what happens.
MiC: Moving on, word association
MiC: Deranged
EC: crazy talented

MiC: 100% true, 4 more names... Shawn Michaels
EC: good worker
MiC: Hulk Hogan
EC: immortal
MiC: Steve Austin
EC: awesome
MiC: And finally EC Negro
EC: 1 half of the best tag team on earth the DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELZ AHHHHHHH
MiC: Where do you see EC Negro 5 years from now? Solo/tag, promotion?
EC: Tag team always
EC: You don’t see a lot of tag team development like you use 2, if I don’t do tag team, I don’t want to wrestle
MiC: Those are strong words. What is your ultimate career goal?
EC: To be considered by all the best at tag team wrestling, for people to want to model themselves after us like we did for others in the past
MiC: Do you want, and when will we see the DRS taking names in the NWA or WWE?
EC: When we get the opportunity, we’ll prove we are the best until we get that chance. and when we do well take full advantage of it
MiC: Who in the wrestling world, dead, alive or in a promotion you're not in, who would be the top 3 guys you'd want to work with?
EC: for me chris daniels, 2 cold scorpio and kijima MiC: Open floor. What do you want to say to the fans, to the fellow wrestlers, and to all people who get in the way of DRS?
EC: To the fans shut up, you all make me sick. The other wrestlers the DRS are the best tag team in the world and if you want to prove us wrong just try us! And if anyone gets in our way well just knock ‘em down
MiC: Thank you EC NEGRO....
There you have it. I’d like to thank EC Negro once again, for doing this. I know wrestlers have busy schedules.
