Archadia

What up DOI Fans and welcome to another McInterview for the Declaration of Independents. Today, NJ Indy wrestling star, Archadia, sat down with us to conduct this interview. Archadia talks about his career, his future and a lot more. Archadia is turning lots of heads in NJ and works in numerous promotions. I hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How did you get into pro wrestling and what was your training like?

Archadia: I always loved wrestling since I was young, the first time I remember really wanting to be a wrestler was in January of 1992. I went to the Royal Rumble in Albany, NY and it was a helluva time. I trained down south with EWA and made my debut in March of 2000. There's a lot of guys who helped me.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Who were your favorite wrestlers growing up? Least favorite?

Archadia: Hulk Hogan is hands down made me want to do this. I always loved watching guys with extraordinary gimmicks, guys who caught the attention of the crowd as soon as the entered the arena. Koko B. Ware, Jake Roberts, The Undertaker. I've never really admitted it, but I was a Marty Jannetty fan. I didn't really dislike many old-school wrestlers, but I couldn't stand watching a match that had Hercules Hernandez and Paul Roma as "Power and Glory". I'm just joking, they were ok, I guess.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What promotions have you wrestled in? Which are your favorite? Least favorite?

Archadia: I've wrestled in EWA, ACW, JCW, BWO, PPW, PWX, NWS (NWA Jersey), SWF. My favorite locker room to be in is the EWA locker room, because of the open-ness (Is that a word) of the guys. When I first started, they welcomed me with open arms, and still to this day we are all a family. When I first walked into the JCW locker room I was amazed at the guys that were in there. BWO is also really a family atmosphere, guys that I really consider good friends come from that locker room. PWX was probably the most fun locker room. But I've been in places that have cliques and certain guys that won't speak to anyone, but it doesn't bother me much, so I really don't have a least favorite promotion.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: You recently wrestled on a recent PWX show. What were your feelings about your match, and that show?

Archadia: My match was amazing. Everytime I get into the ring with Hyena, it's bound to be match of the night. The chemistry I have with him is just amazing and I will probably never have more chemistry with anyone else in this business. The show was great, Billy is a great guy, and the first person I met coming into the business. I thank him for everything he's done for me, and that includes booking me on his debut show.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you think about the internets role in wrestling today?

Archadia: When the internet sites are well thought out, and have really great guys running them, like DOI, (insert my lips on DOI's ass) I think it has a very positive affect. Ecspecially if they have a clever name like Declaration of Independents. That is a cool name. I wish I was smart to come up with a name like that. Wrestlingconstitution.com...no won't work. Anyway, I've gone off subject. The message boards and the Internet sites give every single person a voice, and I believe that is a good thing. Everyone should be heard.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Who would be your dream match?

Archadia: My dream match. After watching the hog pen match and that match with British Bulldog vs. The Rock where the Bulldog got Rock Bottomed into the dog crap. Either of those two matches, and I would want to wrestle a triple threat match vs. Eli Blue and Blake Beverly. Think about the packed house if that was billed the main event.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What has been the best match in your career, in your opinion?

Archadia: The best match of my career. I really think there are a few that are close. Every match I work is very special to me because I'm thankful for every chance I get to go out there and do my stuff. But I have two that really stick out in my mind. A Tag Match I had with Brian Brass vs. The Next Generation in SWF was one of my favorites because of the meaning it had for me, and to share it with three of my best friends was great. Another great match was a ladder match vs. Hyena. The crowd was so intense, and I won the EWA NJ Title in that match.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: Who are your favorite opponents to get in the ring with?

Archadia: Everyone that is gracious enough to get in the ring with me is my favorite. I do alot of gay spots so anyone that can handle get a faceful of my junk is okay in my book. But to name a few, Hyena, Dynamic B, SAVAGE PAYNE, JC Rage, Brian Brass, Vengeance, and Next Generation. I've never worked a match against them, but in training they are so fun to work with...Roach and New Wave.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you think about the current state of independent wrestling?

Archadia: I think it's a great time to be an indy wrestler. Even though there is an abundance of workers right now, I feel I'm unique in the way of my style. I try to be different, because when I'm in the crowd at indy shows, I see the same gimmicks and the same thing over and over again. A lot of the stuff nowadays is just recycled garbage. But I have attended shows lately that I have been entertained during matches. I really wish I went to the J-Cup. Oh yea, that reminds me, VOTE FOR ARCHADIA J-CUP VERSION 5...

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: There is an adage that "you learn something new in every match." Has that applied to you?

Archadia: Oh most certainly Mr. MIC. Everytime I go out there I learn something not to do and something to do. Wrestling is a constant learning experience. I've definitley made some horrible choices in my career, and half the things I have done I completely regret. There is a certain promoter that I have pissed off several times that probably doesn't even remember who I am, but I've been meaning to apologize to.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you think about the other cruiserweights in the indy scene today, and who do you like watching?

Archadia: The cruiserweights nowadays are unbelievable. If there was a super cruiserweight division, that's what I would be in. I mean, my two career choices were either be a horse jockey or a professional wrestler, so you know I'm not a big dude. I really enjoy watching Jay Lethal, Rob Eckos, Damian Adams, The Elm Street Kids, Hyena, and a couple others that I really can't remember. But seriously, watch out for the Elm Street Kids, not only are they two of the nicest kids I've met in the business, but they have passion which some guys I know lack.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: How hard is it to get noticed by indy promoters? Archadia: I don't think it's really hard to get noticed by promoters because at this point they are all over the place. But to get them to like you and book you is an adventure. I really would like to work all over the east, but I guess that's something I'll have to strive for. Sometimes it is disheartening that I try as hard as I do, and don't get noticed by many, but whatever. I never heard Mantaur cry about being un-noticed.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What are your short term and long term career goals?

Archadia: My short term goals are to start wrestling outside of Jersey. And if it's one thing I do before I leave the businessamovich it will be that I take part in a tournament. I've always wanted to just be part of one. Long term goals would be get passed the first round.

Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey: What do you want to say to anyone reading this?

Archadia: I have a few things to say. I want to apologize to everyone and anyone I might have offended throughout my tirades on message boards or whatever. Thanks to the MIC for the interview as well as everyone at DOI. Check out Next Generation at ECPW shows, check out Elm Street Kids at USA Pro shows, check out Roach and New Wave cuz they are all great workers. And if you are bored, check out these few websites:
