Amanda
Violet

After conducting a Pete Ferriero interview, I got in touch with the lovely
Amanda Violet for an interview. Here is an interview conducted on 3/13/2003.
I found Amanda to hold nothing back. She comments on nudity, WWE, state
of the indies, LIWF, T and A among other things! I found this to be very
informative and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Any questions or if
you’re a wrestler and would like to be interviewed, email themic@sscwwrestling.com
And away we go!
Sean "The MiC" McCaffrey: How did you get into this business, and how did
you start watching wrestling?
Amanda Violet: I started watching wrestling when I was young with my uncle.
I stopped watching for quite sometime and eventually ended up making friends
who were into it and watched with them.
Amanda Violet: as far as getting into wrestling...I was dating this guy
who wanted to train and I wanted to do it to, to be involved with what he
was doing. I started out as a referee at a now defunct school on long island.
The MiC: And who were you dating, for the record?
Amanda Violet: he actually quit after about 6 months. I decided I liked
it too much to give up, that’s when I found the LIWF doghouse
The MiC: Can we name, names here, for all the loyal DOI fans?
Amanda Violet: he isn’t a name of sorts at all. He’s still a friend but
never did more than train for those few months
The MiC: That's cool, moving on, who were your influences in wrestling?
Did you watch the women, and say I could do that, like Fabulous Moolah or
Lelani Kai or did you watch the men, and say I want to be a valet, like
Elizabeth?
Amanda Violet: well once I got into watching it again I loved sunny....
I eventually wanted to be like her. I went in as a referee because I felt
that I didn’t have the ideal body type to e a valet/manager or a wrestler...so
I got my foot in the door through reffing. Eventually I realized I really
did want to wrestle and I actually could (due to some encouragement from
the liwf trainers) As influences go Shawn Michaels, The Heart Break Kid
is my inspiration. I met him at an autograph signing recently and I told
him so, probably didn’t faze him but it was huge for me to tell him he inspires
me. He told me "good luck with it"
The MiC: SHAWN MICHAELS, THE HEART BREAK KID is my fave of all time too,
he's def the best wrestler/entertainer in this business, Who was your first
match and result, and how often do you a week?
Amanda Violet: I reffed for LIWF for about 5 months and then they made me
a manager...a big step for me. I was actually a gimmick ref after about
2 months. Like I said I never really wanted to ref, so the change was a
great thing, plus I got to work with a very very dear friend of mine, wrecka,
at liwf for about 2 years
The MiC: So when you made the transition, who was your first match, and
what was going on inside your head?
Amanda Violet: the first thing I really remember about wrecka and I working
together was just how happy I was working with him. we trained together
at liwf and were so close, it was amazing to work with him. after a while
we never had to speak even, I knew what he was doing and when he needed
me in a match. I can never say enough good things about Wrecka; he is a
naturally talented guy and a great person. The match escapes me; it was
like 3 years ago
The MiC: What promotions have you worked for?
Amanda Violet: GCW, HWA, LIWF, UWF, SEX, UWA, CWF, ACW, RDW, DPW, BWO, mostly
small promotions The MiC: So you're still new, and trying to get your name
out there, how does a promoter book Amanda Violet?
Amanda Violet: my Website... http://www.amandaviolet.cjb.net
The MiC: What promotions would you like to work for, but haven't had the
opportunity to?
Amanda Violet: any and all I can get work for... but I really want to work
the elks lodge in queens, even once, because of the history and weight that
building holds
The MiC: What was your best match, and what is your favorite promotion to
work for, and likewise what is the worst promotion you worked for, and why?
Amanda Violet: my best match so far is a toss up between a mixed tag team
match: Me & Devious VS Trinity H Campbell & Mike Jeckel or Me VS Ariel.
both were really good matches and really fun. The Ariel match holds a special
place for me cause it was my first one on one match up with a female and
she was awesome to work with! The mixed tag was just crazy and fun! The
best promotion has to be LIWF/DPW...it is the greatest place to come from
and the best place to work Worst promotion I would have to say I haven’t
had any bad experiences yet...so far so good
The MiC: That's good, whom do you watch now, whether it be indies or WWE,
to get tips from, and to learn from? Also, whom do you talk to on the indy
circuit to get advice from?
Amanda Violet: mainstream wise I watch Shawn Michaels, The Heart Break Kid,
Jeff hardy, rey mysterio, Trish, Victoria, Billy Kidman. indy wise my fav
wrestler by far is homicide, who is also a good friend. Advice I would say
Low Life Louie and Mace Mendoza. they both have done a lot in this biz.
Mace always helps me with my outfits! love that fag!
The MiC: Word association
The MiC: Trinity H. Campbell
Amanda Violet: tough
The MiC: Allison Danger
Amanda Violet: sweet girl
The MiC: Allura
Amanda Violet: I haven’t met or worked with a lot of girls so it’s hard
to say anything one way or another
The MiC: Ariel
Amanda Violet: total sweetheart and so easy to work with
The MiC: Foxxxy Dreams
Amanda Violet: cool chick
The MiC: Trish Stratus
Amanda Violet: most improved
The MiC: Lita
Amanda Violet: overrated
The MiC: Wow, Jazz
Amanda Violet: tough as nails
The MiC: Victoria
Amanda Violet: one of the best woman out there
The MiC: Torrie Wilson
Amanda Violet: eye candy only
The MiC: Stephanie McMahon, and also her relationship w/HHH
Amanda Violet: I love her, but wrestling relationships seldom work out,
trust me I know
The MiC: Interesting, Vince Russo and would you want to work for TNA?
Amanda Violet: Russo is overrated too, good ideas but too much trouble.
I would try any fed at least once
The MiC: Vince McMahon and WWE
Amanda Violet: he’s a genius. the product lacks a bit now since there is
so little competition but I will forever be a fan
The MiC: Lastly, Amanda Violet
Amanda Violet: underrated
Amanda Violet: i'm tougher than people think and I can take care of myself
in the ring, I just need the chance to show it
The MiC: Can you give the fans of the DOI, an upcoming show schedule, where
they can see Amanda Violet at?
Amanda Violet: this Monday I will be in Woodbridge NJ wrestling, I have
a few dates coming up. but most of it is up in the air right now. Any other
info is on my site or my yahoo group "violets garden"
The MiC: That's great. Can you comment on the state of Indy wrestling, what
you'd like see changed, and what do you think about fans posting insane
messages on message boards?
Amanda Violet: I think indy wrestling is going great, wrestlers work hard,
so many small promotions are forming, more work out there. I think more
woman’s wrestling should be on the shows, real wrestling tho not the t &
a stuff. I think msg boards are what they are...let people have a voice
and they will abuse it. but u need fans with opinions to keep wrestling
going.
The MiC: What do you think about women’s role in wrestling in general? Do
you believe that you need T and A to sell shows? Or do you think T and A
should be eliminated, and strictly be focused on women’s wrestling? Also,
what would be your reaction, if a promoter wanted you to show some T and
A on a show, like we just saw on the 3/12 edition of NWA TNA?
Amanda Violet: well I think that different woman have different roles in
wrestling. we each make our own role. personally I want to be known as the
tough girl who can work and hold her own in the ring BUT I would do SOME
t & a if it was called for. I think there needs to be some t & a, and there
are some girls willing to do more of it. there are some girls who only want
to manage/valet and some who want more, it really depends on the girl. I
think people that come to the shows want some degree of t&a and as long
as its appropriate its ok.
The MiC: So bra and panties matches, would be good by you then? What do
you think about nudity such as Ms. Kitty/Stacy Carter at Armageddon 99,
and Holy Wood from NWA TNA 3/12?
Amanda Violet: I would agree to something like that IF the storyline called
for it, I’m not getting into my bra for any reason ya know. if a girl feels
she will benefit or it will not hurt her career and she wants to get naked
then let her...for myself I dont think that would happen but to each his
or her own.
The MiC: True, I understand. So promoters if you're looking for a girl willing
to do some TNA, and you have a good storyline, Amanda Violet is available!
I'm sure that will make the male audience happy! What would you like to
accomplish in your wrestling career, and where do you see yourself in 5
years from now?
Amanda Violet: I just want to wrestle when ever and where ever I can. I
want to put on good matches, make the people that have helped me along the
way proud of me. 5 years from now I hope to have made more of a mark on
wrestling even on a small indy level. I will be wrestling as long as my
body will allow, I love it too much to give it up, and it’s in my blood.
The MiC: OPEN FLOOR, what would you like to say to anyone who is reading
this, whether it be fellow workers, promoters or fans
Amanda Violet: well I want to thank some people who helped me along the
way... Mike Norman, Low Life Louie, Tower of Torture, Homicide, Devious......
Amanda Violet: a special thank u to my web mistress for always doing such
a great job on my pics and site
The MiC: Homicide is one of the best trainers around from what I've heard
from anyone in the business
Amanda Violet: to my new "bodyguard" for being they’re for me- much love
Amanda Violet: hells yea
The MiC: To the promoters
Amanda Violet: BOOK ME! U wouldn't be sorry!!!
