Mike Campbell Remembers Jimmy Hustler
I wanted to write you so I could have something about
Jimmy posted on the DOI. My name is Michael Campbell.
I knew Jimmy and got to work with him a few times and
my favorite match was with him and Bravado. I wanted
to share a few thing about Jimmy with the boys.
I met Jimmy several years ago back when UXW was USAPRO
and worked out of the Elks lodge. I was just out of
training and didn't know many people but Jimmy took it
upon himself to come over and make me feel welcome.
Jimmy had to be hands down the most relaxed guy in the
locker room. Nothing seemed to faze him. Almost
everyone in the back was running around talking about
making it big. About how they were going to be the
next big thing, but Jimmy, he was different, he got
it. He understood that making it was living the life
he always wanted to live and he was doing it in style.
Later on there was a bad situation between my tag
partner and our opponents for that night, Bravado and
Jimmy. I was able to get them both to agree not to
kill my partner after 20 minutes of pleading (it took
30 for Bravado!).
But Jimmy wanted to work with me and
make sure my partner stayed on the outside. It was and
still is my favorite match. I get a kick out of
thinking I'm pretty sure I was Jimmy's only win via
tap out. In fact he got a shot of him submitting me
and put it on his my space page. When I moved to North
Carolina I kept in touch with jimmy over my space he
said he was thinking of moving down. His putting me on
his my space page was a rib between us that never got
old. He said he loved showing it to people. "How cool
do I look taping you out!" I still can't believe he is
gone. We would take turns buying beers at Amazura. I
always thought I would have another chance to buy him
another round. Next time I see you Jimmy the drinks
are on me. My deepest sympathies go out to his family
and loved ones.
Good bye Bro.
