Rob Feinstein Remembers His Best Friend Doug Gentry

I dont know where to start or even what to say right now as I just want this day to be a dream. The world lost one of the best human beings today. Doug was the ultimate babyface. Doug was my best friend for the last 20 years. I first met him thru Eric Gargiulo when I was 16. I never got TBS as a kid and DOug would tape every Saturday Night show for me and on Sunday's I would trade him anything in my collection for copies of the TBS show.He loved early FMW the best. As time went on we became best friends and Doug me and Eric were pretty much inseparable.

When ECW started me and Doug were going to Temple University together so we would often car pool. He started working with me full time in 1992. That is around the time when ECW started to take off. The rest is history. We learned the busienss together and got to travel all over the world with ECW. Doug was a very lucky guy he got to live his dream and got to Japan, England, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Mexico and all over the United States. Doug was the kind of guy that would have done ANYTHING for anyone. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He was always looking to help people. He was more like a brother to me and I could depend on him for anything. He was always there to help me or talk to me. That was the way he was. He never had problems with anyone in life. He was the angel on my shoulder always telling me what to do.

When we would travel, we would often make fun of him for sticking to the rules of the road. He was the type who would stop at yellow lights. That was just the kind of guy he was. He was so good hearted as I can't say enough about how great of a guy he is. Doug loved wrestling and going to shows. The wrestling business was his life.

This is the worst pain I have ever felt in my life and if it teaches you anything at all, it is you must love everyone around you like your friends and family. There is no point in fighting with anyone because life is to short. Doug was only 34 and this was not his time to go. He was way to young. The last few weeks have been really rough but this was not supposed to happen. I really thought and prayed that he was going to beat this. I miss him so much and I keep on wanting him to come thru my house yelling at his dogs. I love the guy to death and I know he is going to be watching over me. He will never be forgotten as there will not be a day that goes by that I won't think of him. Even last night when he was getting off the ambulance he was chanting ONITA ONITA ONITA like his old FMW videos of Onita being taking to the hospital. Before I left the hospital last night never knowing what would happen a few hours later we did the Freebird hand gesture and I told him I would see him today.

I want to thank everyone who reached out today with support as I could not contact everyone.

I could write a book on Doug and what he would do for you if you were his friend. He wanted more than anything to be able to come back to work. Even last week he went to the Raven and HonkyTonk interview just to sit in and everyone told him not to go. That was just how he was. Doug got to live life to the fullest as he had so many friends. He was friends with everyone.

I love you man and miss you so much. RIP

your best friend in the whole world
Rob
