As a worker, you are taught that the boys are the boys and the promoters are the promoters. Doug was different, Doug was one of the boys. He was always down for whatever, be it party or just shootin the shit. When Doug and Rob started Ring of Honor it opened the door for a lot of workers.

Doug saw that there was a group of young guys trying to break in and came up with the idea for Special K. That gimmick, which Doug loved and put so much into gave a lot of us our break. Even after ROH everytime I saw Doug was a great time. When Doug was your friend, and for most he was, he would do everything in his power to help you out, even if it was something as simple as finding you a ride home. He was honest, which is a rare quality in this business, especially among promoters and he cared, he genuinely cared.

He loved his friends, loved wrestling, and loved his giant dogs, which never failed to scare the crap out of me and many others. Doug as a wrestling mind was great, as a human being far greater and will be missed. It's really gonna suck to look around ringside and not see Doug. My thoughts and prayers are with Rob and Joe and Doug's Family.

Rest in Peace Doug
