The last time I saw Doug, Berk and I were trying to help him figure out what to wear for the PWX show at the arena. He had on some sweats and probably that dang AJ Styles shirt. He was worried that if he didn't look the part that the boys wouldn't respect him as the booker. Absurd right?! It didn't matter if Doug put on a button up and did his hair, he already had the respect of everyone there that evening. From the front to the back, there was no denying it, Doug Gentry was one of the most respectable people in a business where that was something you really had to earn.

That was my last memory. My most treasured is when he and I did commentary for the first time together. It was Doug and crew's efforts that rekindled my passion for the wrestling in 2002 or so, at the Murphy Rec. A few years later I was sitting there heeling on Doug as we called a show, and it was awesome. I thanked him profusely after the show, as if I was some greenie jabrone who had just worked his idol. As if? It WAS exactly what happened. So humble he was. Damn, what a tragedy.

What can you say? Well? I hope that when my time comes that I can be remembered 1/1000th as fondly as Doug, because he has set a standard in this business that can't be touched. His life an ways were an example to be followed. God bless your family and those closest to you during these trying times. I hope time is kind to them and heals their aches and sorrows sooner than later.

The world is all f'd up and people are so selfish and whatnot, but you sir, you were a decent human being. Thanks for showing us what it's like to be a true baby face in a world full of tweeners and heels.

Onita Onita Onita.
Gentry. Gentry. Gentry.
*Sigh* Rest in peace Doug.
