Doug Gentry Passes Away

It is with great tragedy to report that long-time RF Video employee & wrestling booker, Doug Gentry, has passed away today, 1/26, at 11:00am. Doug was 34 years old.

Doug Gentry is most famously known to wrestling fans as the guy who operated the "FAN CAM" cameras in ECW. Doug also had many other side-jobs in the wrestling business, working for RF Video full-time. Away from RF Video, Doug Gentry booked several promotions during his life, such as PWX, PW Elite & most famously, Ring of Honor. Doug also enjoyed a brief stint in ECW as the "NJ Devil", and to many, was considered the brains behind RF Video.

As reported previously on the DOI, Doug had a rare care of heart disease. Doug was rushed again to the hospital last night, due to complications from the disease. Everything seemed fine until he went into cardiac arrest at 3:00 AM this morning (1/25). Doug's heart was too weak to fight the disease, and the official ruling of his death is a heart attack.

Doug was a great guy to many people, including to us here at the DOI. Even after the whole RF Video/ROH aftermath, lots of people still considered him a friend. Doug was a loyal guy and truly will be missed by many people. As many would attest, Doug Gentry was a rare person, as he was too nice and never played any of the games that you hear about in the wrestling business.

We'll have more on Doug soon. The DOI sends our condolences to Doug's family, the RF Video Staff and all his friends.

Anyone looking to remember Doug on the DOI can do so by emailing us. All emails will be posted for Doug's friends & family to see.

RIP Doug Gentry
1972-2007
