Fifth Annual DOI 250
Profiles 201-250
201. Dameon Slugga- wrestled mainly for PWU, where he had lots of success. Competed also for WXW. Debuted in Puerto Rico this year as well.
202. Dan De Man- One half of the former Jammin' Jamaican's tag team, with Slugga. Wrestles mostly for ECPW where he held several titles. A great heel, but can also go babyface. Competed for NWA Pro East as well.
203. Red Hot Russ- another ECPW main stay. Has wrestled in other places as well. Won the 2007 ECPW Commissioners Cup with Johnny Thunder. Has several victories over Spike Dudley.
204. Jay Owens- with his brother Trey, the only two time ECPW Tag Team Champions in ECPW history. Has worked in other promotions in the past, but seems content for the time being in ECPW.
205. Trey Owens- part of the Owen Brother Tag Team, where he's had his most success in ECPW. Seem to have fell under the radar when it comes to getting other indy work.
206. Melissa Stripes- another graduate of the ECPW school. Took some brutal moves in JAPW, even getting piledrivered through a wooden door by the manbeast Rhino. Has competed in many mixed tag team matches. Is taking time off this summer.
207. Zack Novack- stepped it up in matches with Archadia, Gavin Quest & Corvis Fear. Won alot more than he lost in his rookie year in ECPW, even winning the ECPW Junior Championship.
208. Donnie "The Body" Johnson- a 2006 ECPW rookie of the year. Another Gino Caruso student. Undefeated on ECPW's B show, "Showcase". Like many people from ECPW, wrestles constantly and is gaining alot of experience since ECPW runs so many shows a year.
209. CJ O'Doyle- wrestled for PWU, but was dropped from the roster this year. Showed up in CZW. Is friends with Kris Krude, and ironically went to the finals of Kris Krude's Wild Card Pro Wrestling title tournament show. Signed the wrestling contract that shaked the world with Billy Reil's PWC. Has improved his look during the grading period.
210. Harry Acropolis/Saddam Insane- former NWS Regional champion. Has done many ridiculous gimmicks for NWS over the years, making fans puke all over the place. Understands the business and uses his irregular shaped body to his advantage. A very reliable wrestler that seemingly works every show for NWS.
211. Johnny Thunder- returned to his home promotion, ECPW, this year. Moved to Massachusetts which is why his NJ show schedule got light. Possesses many tattoos similiar to Shawn Michaels, but not the only person on this list to have similiar ink. A good family-show hand, but will most likely never be seen in an uber-smart mark promotion. Still uses the Superkick as a finisher.
212. Dave Greco- works mainly for NWA Pro East, but made his infamous CZW debut this year, and promptly fell on his face literally. A great heart for the wrestling business. Always works hard and always has real gear, which are two qualities that sometimes are lost with other wrestlers. Won the NWA Pro East tag titles as part of the Playa Club tag team. Not as bad as people make him out to be.
213. Billy Angus- 1/2 of the Angus Brother tag team, but it's not known if the tag team is in tribute to the Angus Burger at BK. Not much charisma, but willing to go all out in matches. Won the PWU tri-state tag titles, but then no-showed the next PWU/PWP show for NYWC, and was stripped of the championship.
214. Danny Angus- teams with brother Billy. Won and was stripped of the PWU tri-state tag titles due to wanting to wrestle closer to home. Not on the upper echelon of indy tag teams yet.
215. Travis Blake- this IWF product tags with Gavin Quest as part of "Ecstasy Express". Won the DWI Tag Team Medals. Made his JAPW debut at the end of the grading period.
216. ZBarr- wrestled mostly for PWU & PWP. Known as the driver of the Philly guys to IWA Mid-South, as pointed out by Ian Rotten at a recent IWA MS show. Recently wrestled the Nasty Boyz. Trying to pick up more work and has re-dedicated himself to his wrestling career.
217. Ken Scampi- an NYWC regular. Competed for NWA Pro, and even donned the Los Geckos Locos mask for a night. Seems content to stay in NYWC for his career, as he hasn't branched out after the demise of NWA Cyberspace, where he also was a regular.
218. KC Blade- returned to the ring for ABC Pro Wrestling. The on again/off again partner of EC Negro. Together they are the Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz. The DRS are still looking to find the same success they had in 2003, but haven't found it in 2006-2007. Known for his ability to make babyfaces look like a million bucks. Possesses great promo skills.
219. Rayza- with Pyscho, compromises 1/2 of the Elm Street Kids. Razya has taken alot of singles bookings this year. Has improved his in-ring ability, but needs to get new gear to reflect the transformation. Wrestled for AWA, WSU, PWH and for other promotions.
220. JD Michaels- known mostly as April Hunter's husband or wife, however you may look at it. Has great in-ring skills, but will ultimately always come off as a Shawn Michaels rip-off. Is great at riling up crowds, as he's solid in the crowd interaction department. Uses Shawn Michaels moveset and wears similiar gear. Would probably find better success if he cut his hair, did his own thing and made people forget about Shawn Michaels and made them focus on him. He's young enough for a career transformation. Wrestled for WSU, VPW & for other promotions.
221. Lucky- former CZW mainstay "defected" to PWU this year. Known for his athletic abilities. Trying to break up into the higher ranks of PWU.
222. Danny Havoc- wrestles mainly for CZW, where he's had moderate success. Seems to be building more of a fanbase.
223. JC Ryder- currently competing in Pro Wrestling Unplugged. Like Lucky, still looking to make a name for himself in PWU to showcase his abilities.
224. TJ Cannon- from the XFC school, TJ Cannon was involved in what many thought was a match of the night candidate at a Pro Wrestling Press show. Still looking to cut his teeth in the business.
225. Joe Hardway- ECPW graduate who has found moderate success in ECPW as well in Mike Morgan's version of the AWA. Competed in other various promotions such as ABC Pro Wrestling. Often criticized as being "too vanilla", but a good mat wrestler.
226. Bruce Maxwell- another graduate of the XFC school. Feuded with TJ Cannon. PWU should be his next big step.
227. Ryan McBride- "The Hotshot" of CZW. Working on his look and ability. Can do a 450 splash, which he uses as a finisher.
228. Tim Arson- "The Arsonist" spent most of his time in Puerto Rico, for WWC, but also did several shows for his home promotion of WUW. The fierce southpaw has actually become a bigger name in PR than he has in his own home area. Indy fans may also remember him as "The Zombie" from the first edition of ECW on Sci-Fi.
229. Andy Sumner- part of Team AnDREW. Competes mainly for CZW, but has done other shows as well. Considered the better half in Team AnDrew.
230. Johnny Candido- had an up and down year. Works mostly for NWS. Had several injuries and ailments that slowed his aspiring career down during the grading period. A good talent for NWS shows, but perhaps not polished enough for bigger indy promotions.
231. Billy Bax- works mostly for ECWA, where he was the longest reigning tag team champion in ECWA history with Rob Eckos. Also competed for NWS and NYWC this year. Still working on crowd interaction skills, as his Valedictorian partner seems to be the better of the two in that department.
232. Traci Brooks- the TNA knockout has made her mark in the northeast, wrestling for NWS & NYWC, amongst other promotions. Has wrestled in alot of mixed tag-team matches, with Sal Sincere being the partner of her choosing. Together they can be Sal & His Two Pals. Has improved her in-ring abilities, as is evident from her recent TNA matches.
233. TNT/Kaibootzie- Formerly a babyface, the fans are still asking themselves "Why TNT Why?" after TNT's monumental heel turn last year. Wrestles for NWS, where he's won several championships. Seems to be winding down his in-ring career.
234. Gino Caruso- the owner of the ECPW school and name has come out of semi-retirement in a series of matches with Andrew Anderson in NY and in NJ. Even in an older age, has a better look than most of the up and coming guys on this list.
235. Slayer- another NWS mainstay. Slayer's character always gets a good reaction in front of the family oriented NWS crowds.
236. Indian Warrior Draven- Competes primarily for NWS, but has made stops in other places, such as in JWA. Still working on his way up the "prestigious" NWS ladder.
237. April Hunter- April returns to the DOI 250 again, as she's one of the first females ever to be ranked in the DOI 250. Pretty much has won and done everything womens wrestling related in the northeast in previous years. April has been working in different areas, and not in her homebase which is 1/2 her decision and 1/2 the fact that area promoters have had it with her. During the grading period, worked for UWF, VPW, WSU & NMW, amongst others. Very good at marketing herself.
238. Gil Quest- mainly an NWS regular, Gil has worked for other places. The kayfabe brother of Gavin Quest. Still trying to make a niche for himself.
239. Low Life Louie Ramos- the former NY King of Hardcore Wrestling became a married man during the time period. His real life responsibilities has cut down his in-ring time. Another guy that you will never hear bad things about. Wrestled for UXW, NWS, PWH & in other promotions. Still can get down, dirty, disgusting and bloody with the best of them.
240. Donnie Bon Jovi- The owner of Victory Pro Wrestling doesn't wrestle on his own shows, as he's wrestled for NWA NJ and several local independents, including WSU. His gimmick can go heel or face, depending on the crowd. All around good guy in the wrestling business.
241. Rocksha 337- an indy icon. Known for hitting a dozen to 3 dozen Rocksha Stunners in a clip. A hilarious promo guy. Also working on new gimmicks which include Rocksha 666, Rocksha From Hell & The Red Power Ranger. Currently the UCCW Heavyweight champion and owner. Holds wins over several people on this list. Worked for VPW, UCCW, PWH, TMPW, CZW (as Reefer's second) and for other promotions.
242. Norman Smiley- another guy who didn't compete much in the Northeast area, but how can you forget the "Big Wiggle?" Works mainly for Frank Goodman's UXW, but does take other bookings as well. A great in-ring performer, who now uses comedy to prolong his career.
243. Kris Krude- did not compete much, as he left the business as an in-ring performer, due to going through an operation to save his mother's life. His schtick always got a huge reaction from Philly crowds. Still involved in the business with Wild Card Pro Wrestling.
244. Little Ricky- returned to the business after a few years off. The former NWA mainstay returned to Gung Ho Wrestling and works area promotions in New Jersey. Has added tons of size and has a gimmick that can rile up fans easily.
245. Jimmy Hustler- Sadly passed away in November of 2006. Before his death, competed here and there for his own promotion, ABC Wrestling, where he lost more than he won. Went back to his roots in June of 2006, and wrestled for Johnny Rodz's WUW again. Not the best wrestler, and perhaps not even a good wrestler, but an all around great guy who is missed.
246. The Masked Maniac- The self-proclaimed "cult-hero" seems to be winding down as he gets older. Ran only one NY show during the grading period, as he's now running shows in Florida for a myriad of reasons. Not good technically, but one of the funniest promo guys around. Can always get a crowd hot with his mouth. Still pulling his opponents pants down at 40+ years of age.
247. Drew Gulak- CZW regular, but don't call him CZW's booker. Part of team AnDrew. Also worked for Maven Bentley's MBA. Mainly works in the PA/MD region.
248. Ref Hanson- Yes, that Ref Hanson. Ref Hanson competed in Pro Wrestling Hybrid, where he had what is being called a "Match of the Year" candidate with Rocksha. Seems to want more from the wrestling business than just refereeing, as he's done some matches, commentating and other jobs in the business. Still one of the top referees in the northeast working regularly for JAPW, WSU & other promotions.
249. Corey Havok- Almost completed his first year in the business during the grading period. Worked mostly for NWS, where he's a semi-regular. Uses the name Corey Xyde on occassion. Trains at Joe Rules JWA school in New Brunswick. Currently 1/2 of the JWA tag team champions. Also appeared at PWH.
250. El Shoes- joining Fujinami, JC The Damager & KC Blade, El Shoes rounds out this year's DOI 250 in the 250 spot. Won the UCCW US Championship, but was stripped a show later due to intense contract negotiations. A product of the Johnny Rodz WUW wrestling school. Also appeared in WSU and PWH. On again/off again tag partner of Joe Delicious. Took more Rocksha Stunners than anyone else this year. Known more for his comedy and promo ability than his in-ring wrestling, but wishes to change that.
