On Friday August 27, 2010 All-Star Wrestling of Florida returned to Stroker’s of Tampa, 11236 W. Hillsborough Ave for Full Thottle Friday! The show was opened with 10 bell salute in honor of former WWE superstar Luna Vachon.

(1) In a #1 contenders tournament match, Jude MacKenzie of the Virus defeated Super Grover.

MacKenzie felt he needed to talk to the fans instead of watching his opponent, so Gover got a quick school boy roll for two. MacKenzie recovered and went on the attack raking eyes and using other tactics Grover’s friends on the street wouldn’t condone. MacKenzie went for a chinlock submission using the ropes for leverage but the referee saw it and ordered a break. MacKenzie drove his knee into Grover’s back and locked in a front facelock. Grover got to his feet and hit several moves trying to take out MacKenzie. Grover went for a suplex but got countered by MacKenzie who eventually got a school boy roll pin with both feet on the ropes, obvlivious to the referee.

(2) In a #1 contenders tournament match, Afro Boy defeated Wayne Van Dyke.

The match opened with both men trying to control the tempo until Van Dyke hit a flying double knee to Afro in the corner. Van Dyke kept control with some illegal moves that ended when Afro used the Fro as a weapon. It ignited a series of moves from the man of Mowtown who ended the bout with another Fro Spear.

(3) “Hotshot” Mike Reid & Joey Knight defeated the NuYoRicanz (Ramos & Rivera w/D. Lee & friends.)

The NY crew attacked Reid & Knight at the bell and it backfired as the NY retreated to the floor for a conference. Knight and Reid controlled the match and got in their opponents head. That eneded when the Ricnz isolated Knight from Reid. Ramos, Rivera and friends worked over Knight for several mintues. But nothing they did kept Knight’s shoulders down nor made him submit. Knight ducked a double clothesline and hit one of his own and it allowed him to tag in Reid who was ready to fight, dumping Rivera to the floor. Knight won with a top rope sunset flip that caught Ramos totally off guard. After the match the NuYoRicanz complained they were cheated but it fell on deaf ears.

(4) In a #1 condenders match, Ramyond “Killing Machine” Snow defeated Michael O’Toole.

O’Toole tried to mat wrestle with his larger opponent and that didn’t go so well as Snow powered O’Toole around the ring. O’Toole changed it up and tried brawling with Snow and that worked as he hit punches and a clothesline for two. O’Toole kept on the attack but he let Snow get to his feet and that was all Snow needed to hit a STO to advance to the second round.

(5) In a #1 contdenders tournament match, Damien Angel defeated Dirty White Boy.

This was an interesting “North vs. South” encounter. DWB went to work with a forearm uppercut but Angel countered out of a slam into a head scissor. Angel showed he could bend rules too raking DWB’s eyes. Angel went to the apron for a hold but DWB hit a running knee that took the action to the floor where DWB laid in some punches. The fight came back to the ring where DWB went to work on Angel’s neck with a creveat like hold. when he didn’t get a submission, DWB resorted to using the ropes to choke down Angel. Taking too long to jawjack with the fans, DWB went for a missed a springboard legdrop and it gave Angel the opening he needed to get busy. Angel went on an offensive tear even as DWB fought back. Angel got the last move by reversing a waistlock and driving DWB to a corner following with a rollup pin.

(6) ASW Elite champion Biff Slater of the FXE (w/Gu$ Money) defeated “Killer” Kyle Blizzard.

Commissioner “Gentleman” Joe Litrell and his executive assistant watched intentively from ringside. Slater looked hesitant to lock up with an opponent equal to him in size. The two men collided in the ring testing the other’s shoulder tackles and it was Blizzard who sent Slater ot the floor after muscling Slater with a tackle. Slater came back in and it was Blizzard in control until Slater got his boot up on a corner clothesline attempt by Blizzard. Slater grabbed Blizzard and threw his left shoulder into the second rope turnbuckle. Slater worked on the injury as well as the neck with a chinlock submission hold. Slater let the hold go and went to the second rope and fell right into Blizzard’s boot. Both men struggled to their feet and it was Blizzard who went on the attack using several power moves but another corner splash failed as Slater moved and hit a running boot to the face for two. Slater got reversed and was hit with a toss slam which got Gu$ on the ropes to distract the referee and Litrell as Slater hit Blizzard with the championship belt. To the shock of all Blizzard kicked out of the pin but he didn’t escape a Spinebuster.

Aftetr the match Slater said this was the second week Litrell sent “Florida’s Best” to take the Elite championship from him and he failed.

(7) Don Maximo of the FXE (w/Gu$ Money) fought Donnie York of the Highwaymen (w/Star Stevens & Butch Long) to a no contest.

These two factions have total distain for each other and it was in full display in this battle. York went on the attack but got leveled by a right hand from Maximo. As York fought back in the ring, Gu$ tossed Long into the ringpost and decked Stevens from behind. Maximo and Gu$ double teamed York and that called for the bell. Maximo hit York with a double handed choke slam that brought Marc Mandrake from the locker room to even the sides.

When things settled down the Highwaymen challenged FXE to a six man tag match and if they won they would receive their guaranteed rematch. After talking among themselves the FXE accepted and “Gentleman” Joe Litrell signed off on it.

(8) In a #1 contenders tournament match, “Ragin Bull” Eddie Taurus defeated “Mr. 630” Jerrelle Clark.

Clark and Taurus traded hard hitting moves until Taurus leveled Clark with a spinning kick to the face. Taurus controlled the match until Clark countered and hit a spinning kick of his own followed by a knee drop for two. Clark backed Taurus to a corner with forearm shots but Taurus countered with a slam. Taurus went up top and missed a legdrop. Clark went for and missed his one and half splash. Clark countered out of a German suplex landing on his feet and decking Clark with a head scissor. In the end Clark fell to Taurus and a sitout power bomb like hold.

After the match Taurus took the mic and said Clark was so close in winning and he had tons of respect for “Mr. 630.” Taurus said he was one step closer to regaining his championship from Alex Decay and he didn’t care who he faced. This brought out Simon Sez who said he had respect for the other tournament qualifiers. But he guaranteed he would be left standing at the end to face ASW Heavyweight champion Alex Decay.

(9) In a #1 contenders tournament match,“The G.O.A.T.” David Mercury defeated “Dancing Machine” Bobby Fonta w/ “Manager of Champions” Bill Alphonso via DQ.

Despite the presence of the ECW original at ringside, Mercury didn’t look one bit rattled. Mercury took Fonta to the mat with a hammerlock. Alphonso got on the apron to cheer Fonta on and it worked as Fonta reversed a move and hit a monkey flip. It allowed Fonta to go to work on Mercury’s left arm and shoulder. Mercury countered out and tagged Fonta’s chest with chops but his corner whip got reversed into a head scissor. Mercury slid to the floor and Fonta followed with a bodyblock, but Mercury caught him and drove his back into the ring post. Back in the ring Mercury went to work on the injured back with power moves. Alphonso got the fans behind Fonta as Mercury locked in a crossface. Somehow Fonta fought to his feet only to be tripped back to the mat by Mercury who locked in a left leg hold with a bridge holding Fonta’s chin. Fonta refused to submit so Mercury let the hold go and that backfired as Fonta countered out of a move taking Fonta to the mat for two. Fonta followed with a cross bodyblock for two as the FXE came to ringside. Fonta got two on a backslide, a small package and sunset flip. Fonta was ready to finish off Mercury but the FXE grabbed Mercury, dragging him to the floor where a beatdown ensued. The referee had no choice but to call for the bell and award the match to Mercury.

After the match the fight went into the ring with Mercury being beaten into a corner by Slater. But Slater’s focus was taken by Alphonso’s whistle blowing. When Slater turned around he got a chair tossed to him and Fonta hit a Van Terminator that sent the champion sprawling across the mat.
