The following is an open letter by Angel Williams. Angel Williams is a female indy wrestler who has worked for WXW and NWA TNA. The following details a situation between Angel and ELW. ELW is a promotion that books only women. ELW ran shows in September of this year, which were poorly attended, and saw many of the workers get underpaid. Here is Angels letter:

Hey everyone,
I've been so lenient with a certain situation regarding ELW, but now I've had it. I am making this a public post so everyone can know what really went on. I didnt want to do this, but now i have no choice.

I'm sure pretty much everyone knows who the promoter is, so im not gonna mention the name. I charge a certain amount of money to wrestle. I considered the promoter a friend of mine, so i cut him some slack on my price. Also because it was his first show. Now i never usually do that, but I guess i was feeling nice. So instead of my normal pay, I was charging 2/3 of what i normally ask for.

I was asked by this promoter to get some contact info on a certain worker he wanted to book. I got this info for him, and he told me he would "bonus" me for it. So with that bonus, I would get my entire normal pay. This I am fine with.

Well, at the show, EVERY SINLGE GIRL GOT RIPPED OFF OF THEIR PAY. Except for one and I travelled with her. Excuses like sponsors didnt come through and the gate was low was what I was told. I was also told that I would get the rest of my pay within days, just not that night. I was pretty upset and ended up leaving the show with 1/3 of my pay.

Well this "promoter" told me day in and day out afterwards that I would get my money, he just needed to find a way. It was never the fact that he didnt have the money, cause he "did", it was that he needed a way to get it to me. A friend of mine has PayPal so i told him to send it over that cause i was at her house and she could give me the money right there. Well all of a sudden, he doesnt have access to a computer. This is over a week later. Days after I was promised I would get the rest of my money.

He then said he could Western Union the money to me, I just needed to find one. I found one right down the street from my house. I called him AND text messaged him the name of the place and the address to it. I gave him any and all info on me he would need to send the money. STILL NO MONEY. So I am calling and text messaging for another WEEK, with no responses. I KNOW he checks his voicemails and text messages on a regular basis so now I am being ignored. So he said he had my money, he just needed to find a way to get it to me. I found him several ways to do so and now all of a sudden I cant find hide nor hare of him. I'm f*@#in pissed off.

So I told him I was going to have to resort to making this a public issue, because so many great girls were screwed here. And girls, you dont have to back me up for one second on this. If you got the rest of your money, AWESOME. I'm glad you did. But I'm sick of scummy promoters like this guy thinking he can take advantage of a great bunch of girls and make empty bullsh*# promises and not back a freakin thing up.

And I'm not talking like I'm owed $5, $10 or $20. Or even $50. I am owed WAY more then that. I actually got a text message from this guy yesterday, after I threatened to make this a public deal, saying that he would send the money last night. NOPE. No money. No phone call, no confirmation number, nothing. I am really pissed off, so I made this issue public.

I'm not trying to cause any problems here. I am just so fed up and just had to let everyone know.

To the other girls that got screwed, I'm sorry you did. I'm certainly not doing the next show, and I hope you guys wont either. That's up to you though! But I cant trust this situation wouldnt happen again with this "company".
