As the new Commissioner of WSU, I have been asked to “politely” express my thoughts on a “politically correct” basis regarding the last WSU double DVD taping event (08/06/11) at the ACE arena in 100 plus degree weather.
First, let me start by saying THAN YOU to everyone who attended the heat waved event. Not only was the weather hot, but inside the ring was even hotter.
Seeing such young and upcoming talent give 100% for the fans and to each other is truly remarkable. When I see the likes of Niya, Barbie, Tina Sanantonio, Monique, Nikki Syx or even Marti Belle, I know I am going to “true heart” and dedication in their matches. Each of the “undercard” girls busted their A$$es to build up to the Semi-Main Events and Main Event. It has been my experience that as a card continues throughout the night, it should be better and better so by the time the Semi-Main Events and Main Event arrives, the crowd is “hot”/ready for some serious a$$ beatings. This was the case that night. Each and every “undercard” girl was striving for that “Someday I’m in the Main Event” spot.
Some the more “seasoned” ladies stepped it up a notch to please the fans.
Amber was doing her best to work the last nerve of the Jerseyites in the crowd. I think she succeeded because she has worked my last nerve at times.
Please keep in mind, a lot of these ladies worked twice for the double DVD taping.
Gabby Gilbert a/k/a Roxxie Cotton, who is a former tag champion, was showing some pretty impressive submission moves that night. She is probably secretly training under Cindy Roger’s tutelage. Cindy nor Gabby will confirm nor deny this accusation.
Jana & Jessie "Bonesaw" Brooks vs. Jennifer Cruz & Monique w/Rick Cataldo: Cataldo was one of more “comical”/entertaining matches. Cataldo has natural charisma and has a tendency to bring out the best in the ladies that or just the fact in his mind he’s a girl just having fun!
Rain took it upon herself to watch every single match and sit down with the girls and go over the pros and cons of their matches. To me, this is such an honor. To have someone of Rain’s caliber to take the time out to watch your match is phenomenal. She has wrestled all over the world including Japan. Rain had wrestle Serena earlier in the night. The two of them were showing just how things should be done inside the ring. KUDOS!!!!!
I want to give Annie Social some major kudos. I met Annie BEFORE she could wrestle. The young woman has worked her A$$ off and has proven herself time after time. She is currently scheduled to train and work in Japan with the Diana Group. I wish her all the best! As long as WSU allows me as Commissioner, Annie will be welcomed at WSU. She is a rough, tough little chicky that just adds a “bad ass” style to the roster.
I find it quite interesting seeing some of the ladies who were once in the “big” league find their way to the WSU roster. Seeing Serena in the locker room as well as in the ring is a breath of fresh air. She has class, talent and great knowledge. I admire her for taking the time to speak with the younger roster members. I want to personally thank WWE for her release….it’s their loss and one of WSU’s greatest gains.
There were some major upsets as well as shocks during the evening.
Brittany Savage pulled her head out of her A$$ and brought her “A” game that night. I always knew she had talent, skills and the ability to shine. Well, she did. Not only did she do it “clean”, but with class, dignity and not one time cry about receiving as A$$ whooping (from yours truly). Watch this young lady. I would not be surprised if one day she is the WSU World Champion. I am honored to have had my very last in-ring experience with her.
I would have to say the most shocker of all is Lexxus v. Mercedes Martinez (WSU World Champion). This match went 73 minutes of non-stop A$$ kicking. Lexxus really showed that she was ready to “bring it” that night. At no time did she quit. Lexxus gave it to Mercedes as good as Mercedes gave it to her. Believe me, I have been on the other end of Mercedes’ kick….they hurt BAD! At the end of their match, Mercedes showed everyone from the fans to the roster why she is championship material. Mercedes acknowledged Lexxus’ efforts and hard work. Mercedes overcame Lexxus with her experience, skills and knowledge. Please don’t think this is the last we will see of Lexxus. She doesn’t strike me as one to go away quietly. Kudos to both ladies. Mercedes for remaining champion and Lexxus for showing all of us she has what it takes to one day be champion.
The most despicable matter happened during the second DVD taping.
It happened during the Main Event. Jessica Havok with Sassie Stephanie and Allison Kaye “wolfed packed” on Alicia and Mercedes Martinez. Thank goodness Brittany Savage was still in the locker room. She saw what happened and came out clearing the ring. To deliberately beat the hell out of a referee and jump people from behind is a sign of a coward and bully.
At that time, I was in the WSU office with management discussing my newly retired career. When we heard what was going on, management looked at me and said “This is why we still need you in WSU.” Truthfully, I didn’t even sign an Agreement with WSU management for the Commissioner position. My natural instinct was to go to the ring to find out what the hell just happened.
I always find it amazing how bullies pounce on individuals from behind so easily, but when confronted they act like “What did I do?” REALLY? Are you kidding me????!!!!
I accepted my position inside the ring in front of all of the WSU fans as well as in ear reach of the WSU roster. I immediately began bringing justice. Fyi my Employment Agreement as Commissioner wasn’t signed until after the chaos broke out.
Some fans may criticize my actions by not only booking the War Games in November 2011, but announcing matches for the WSU Anniversary show March 2012.
I booked the War Games because I am tired of seeing “wolf packs” disrupting matches and causing chaos. I am was just as guilty at one time as those I am calling out on this matter. With the War Games, there is no place to run. It’s in a cage. I made myself the referee because as I see it, the WSU referees are intimidated by the WSU roster. I don’t get intimidated too easily. This was one of the main reasons WSU asked me to become Commissioner.
I booked these matches to show that I was a serious Commissioner. Not someone who takes the title as commissioner lightly and never shows up again. I have built 22 years in pro-wrestling because of the FANS. I have always believed that you should give the fans what they want. So as my gift to the fans for 22 years of their love and support, I gave them what they wanted:
Allison Kaye v. Alicia – WSU “Payback Bitch” Match.
Brittany Savage v. Sassie Stephanie – WSU Spirit Title Match
Mercedes Martinez v. Jessica Havok - WSU World Title Match
I also took the liberty in naming the first inductee to the WSU Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame – Cindy Rogers a/k/a Definition of Technician. Cindy has been with WSU from the beginning. She only retired due to severe neck injuries that, if she wrestled again, could leave her paralyzed. She is a strong, talented, positive role model for the WSU roster. I’m saddened that I won’t see her in action anymore at WSU, but am so dam glad she will be doing commentary for the IPPV’s and DVD’s. YAY!
In conclusion, I have brought aboard one of my dearest friends in wrestling - you may say he is my best male girlfriend, Dr. Don Bootz. Dr. Don Bootz will be my assistant as well as my eyes/ears at WSU. We have traveled all over the U.S. together. He knows what I want, how I want it, and what should be done the RIGHT way. Yes, he was the crazy guy at ringside with me against Brittany.
WSU is a strong women’s promotion. It is the talk of the internet, conventions, wrestling shows, magazines, etc. WSU is what I call a “real women’s wrestling promotion” not a Dumb, Ignorant, Vicious, A$$hole (DIVA) promotion.
Finally, I would like to let the fans know that I am here to listen to their complaints, compliments as well as expressing who they would like to see at WSU. WSU is only getting better and stronger because of its fan base. Thank you all for your time in reading this lengthy state of address.
I promise the next one will be a wee bit shorter. I will be discussing Melina, in depth about the War Games and the Anniversary Show. See you all November 19th at the ACE Arena. God Bless!
