Update for 8/18
There is no further news to really report about 3PW's future. Calls to Mike Hawes, the General Manager of 3PW, went unanswered. The Blue Meanie, the booker of 3PW, told the DOI that he doesn't even know what the status of the company is.
With PWU announcing a 9/17 date in Philadelphia, which was supposed to be the date of 3PW's event, it looks like if 3PW returns, they will be returning against fierce competition.
As of right now, with less than a month away, it looks like the 9/17 event for 3PW will wind up being cancelled. The life of the company is also up in the air, as many insiders are saying that Mike Hawes got in over his head, and overspent (and lost) money on every show.
Once we find out anything to confirm 3PW's existence or death, we'll post it here on the DOI.

3PW Update For 7/29
I have been receiving alot of emails about the status of 3PW. From what is known, 3PW still plans on returning on September 17th, at the ECW Arena, in Philadelphia, PA. Despite The Blue Meanie being on WWE TV recently, The Blue Meanie, the heart & soul of 3PW, will still be allowed to appear and wrestle at all 3PW events. Who knows, the bWo, which returned at a 3PW show last year, doing several skits, could possibly return when 3PW comes back. I wouldn't rule out anything.
Mike Hawes, the General Manager of 3PW, is currently relaxing and trying to relieve some stress, after being stressed out during the whole 3PW fiasco, which saw the dismissal of Rockin Rebel from the company. There is a rumor that Rebel and Mike can make amends and Rebel would come back, but that is just a rumor for now.
3PW will be honoring all July 16th tickets at their September 17th event.
The following was posted by Harold Williams, 3PW writer, at 3PWrestling.com:
Summer is now upon us, and as pro-wrestling fans opt to spend their summer weekends hanging out at the beach instead of sitting in hot arenas, 3PW is taking a summer break of it's own. Not surprisingly, rumors quickly spread that instead of going on a brief hiatus, 3PW had breathed it's last breath. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Although there will not be any shows until September, 3PW business behind the scenes will be as busy as ever. GM Mike Hawes has been talking to various members of the pro-wrestling media, assuring them that 3PW is still alive and well.
Not only does Mike Hawes want fans to keep faith in the 3PW product, but he wants the members of the 3PW roster to continue having a positive view of the company as well. The next 3PW event originally was scheduled to be on July 16th. I have seen many promoters decide to cancel an event weeks in advance, but wait until the week that the event was originally scheduled- sometimes that day- until they finally inform the talent that was booked for the event. This results is talent vowing to never work for the promoter again. Avoiding a situation like this, Hawes informed the talent as soon as the decision was made to cancel the event. This will enable talent to get bookings elsewhere for July 16.
In the coming weeks, 3PW management will be brainstorming in order to help 3PW climb the ladder of the industry. Ever since this year began, 3PW has undergone constant changes in management, and as Brian Heffron explained at 3PW Resurrection, it was been a busy year for him on a personal level as well. With him having to oversee live 3PW events every month, his plate has been more than full. Without having to deal with live events for awhile, 3PW management will have more time to plan successful business and entertainment strategies.
Many fans have been asking me what my opinion is on 3PW's current situation. Wow, where do I start? So much has been going on. I feel that 3PW not running shows right now is the best option. Brian Heffron and Mike Hawes can't present the best possible 3PW product if they are constantly dealing with shake ups behind the scenes. I want to see 3PW get the ball rolling again, but that should not happen until management is satisfied with how business is being conducted. If they don't, enough attention will not be dedicated to the entertainment end of the product, as they have to deal with problems on the business end. Fans find out about what is going on behind the scenes, and they become more interested in what is happening backstage than they are interested in what is happening in the ring! When 3PW begins running shows again, behind-the-scenes dramas will be a thing of the past, and the only reports that fans will be reading will be reports on the 3PW Heavyweight Championship and standing room only 3PW events.
I hope that the 3PW Tag Team Title is reactivated in the near future. There are a lot of good teams in the industry that are looking for an opportunity. 3PW has given talent such as Roadkill and Slyck Wagner Brown opportunities that many other companies have not, and they could do the same for many tag teams.
I think that Mike Hawes is doing a great job as GM. In my opinion, 3PW has come too far over the past 3 years for it to give up. National distribution deals for home video & DVD, attendance figures of 400 (as 3PW did in May), having good business relations with a major company like TNA that has led to the bringing in of stars such as Abyss and America's Most Wanted. There are people saying "Give it up, 3PW", but Hawes isn't listening. He believes in this company, and he has every reason to. Hawes is not backing 3PW because he has to, he's doing it because he is a fan and actually CARES about 3PW.
Many fans have questions about the status of 3PW and it's future, which causes many rumors to start. There were stories that 3PW had closed it's doors for good, and Mike Hawes had put the company behind him and was headed to another promotion. Hawes has been speaking to many media outlets, killing rumors and providing everyone with the answers that they are looking for.
Most importantly, Mike Hawes listens to advice and suggestions. Over the years I have worked for many promotions as either a writer, publicist, or webdesigner (or a combination of these positions), and have worked for various promoters. While doing the job that they hired me for, I often come up with ideas that can make their product better or I see a mistake being made by the promoter, and I give them suggestions or advice. Sometimes the promoter listens, but other times they don't, believing that they are the only person that knows the business. This always results in the promotion folding due to too many mistakes being made by the promoter. Hawes has listened to my advice & suggestions, and he listens to everyone else in 3PW that has an idea or gives an opinion. In fact, Brian Heffron is the same way. That is one of the main reasons why everyone in 3PW's morale is up even though 3PW is not having the best of times right now- we don't feel like we work FOR 3PW, we feel like we are A PART of 3PW.
3PW will be back in full force this September, and when it returns, it will be unstoppable. With a roster and staff consisting of people who have a passion for this business, 3PW is destined to have a bright future.
We'll have more on 3PW once news is made available.

PAST UPDATES:
Watch The Blue Meanie On Smackdown This Thursday Night
For all 3PW fans and for wrestling fans in general, the Blue Meanie returns to the WWE this Thursday night on Smackdown. For someone who was been having the worst year in his life (As he stated on 3PW's 6/18 show), Meanie getting another shot at the WWE just goes to show you that good things do happen to good people.
2005 has been a crazy year for the Blue Meanie, and it looks like he will make the WWE even crazier, as he rejoins Stevie Richards and Super Nova, as members of the bWo. Make sure to catch Smackdown this Thursday to see the return of the bWo.
There is no word on the length of Meanie's contract, but it is rumored that it is a short-term deal. There is no word yet how this affects 3PW, as Blue Meanie is the booker of 3PW. With 3PW having problems as it is, this is a great shot for Blue Meanie to make some cash during 3PW's down-time. It also re-establishes The Blue Meanie as a national wrestling superstar.

PAST UPDATES:
3PW Update
After all the statements that went up here earlier on the DOI, it is now 100% confirmed that Rebel has been removed from 3PW. Today, on the 3PW website, at 3PWrestling.com, Rebel's biography was removed. In addition, 3PW has taken down their tag team title history from the website. The 3PW Tag Team titles, which have never been stabilized and just a problem for the company once Slyck Wagner Brown/April Hunter lost them, are probably better off not coming back for a while.
3PW is currently scheduled to return on September 17th at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
We'll have more on 3PW as news is made available.

3PW Cancels July 16th Event
Mike Hawes confirmed to the DOI today that 3PW will be cancelling their 7/16 event due to a myriad of factors. Mike Hawes also told the DOI that he's been informing wrestlers this past weekend about the cancellation in an effort to help the talent get work and a payday that day. It is a hard move for 3PW to make, but it is an honest move, as they allow their wrestlers a chance to get paid somewhere else that day, instead of cancelling the show at the last minute and screwing over the talent.
Obviously, the main reason for 3PW's cancellation is due to the current situation with the Rockin Rebel and his promoter's license. It seems that the problems CZW and PWU had with Rebel's license are the same problems 3PW are having. While no one in 3PW will comment officially yet about the situation, I am told that there will be a major statement about everything forthcoming.
Rockin Rebel also told the DOI he will have his side of the story made public as well.
Other reasons, in addition to the internal conflict, for 3PW cancelling the 7/16 event are:
- Time to Re-evaluate the product: With the shows not being the way they should for a major promotion, 3PW officials will address what they need to do and help turn 3PW around for good.
- Summer months: It is tough to draw in the summer, and the worst time to rebuild a company is in the summer. 3PW feels taking the summer off to recharge their batteries creatively will help the product improve.
- Too much competition: It's hard to be a competitor when proven entities like JAPW and ROH are running head-to-head with you. People will go to the proven products and not a promotion in rebuilding stages. JAPW is running on 7/16 with Steve Corino, Low Ki and Sandman. ROH will be running on 7/16 with Matt Hardy vs Chris Daniels.
The 8/20 date may also wind up being cancelled as well, as 3PW wants a fresh start and wants to blow the roof off of the ECW arena in September. With minimal ventilation in the ECW Arena, this is probably wise on 3PW's part. However it does open up another pomotion who wants to run the arena, to snag the 7/16 date and possibily the 8/20 date. One possibility could be IWA-MS, a product that fans in this area craves.
Mike Hawes, despite having his company in a down period, seems energetic and willing to sail past the crap he's been dealing with. He is confident that 3PW can be a force on the indy scene and is looking for a fresh restart, as he had to take over 3PW (and kept the ball rolling) under rough conditions.
The tag team titles are most likely going to be stripped and vacated. Look for more on the Rebel situation once 3PW/Mike Hawes makes his statement.
We'll have more on this story as news becomes available.

PAST UPDATES:
Major 3PW News
The DOI has found out today that 3PW will be making a huge announcement later this week concerning their immediate future. It is rumored, but not confirmed, that they will take time off to re-evaluate the future and the status of the company. Ever since the dismissal of Jasmin St. Claire, 3PW has had a hard time turning a profit. With the summer months ahead of us, which are proven to be hardest time of the year to draw, 3PW wants to reconsider their upcoming options.
3PW is also expected to announce the firing of Rockin Rebel (Chuck Williams) from the company. No one from 3PW will comment on the record yet to the DOI, but it seems that everything is in works to have Rebel removed from the promotion. The reasons for Rebel's rumored dismissal is due to an issue over his license and some of his booking ideas. The heat between Rebel and 3PW is said to be between Rebel and front office management and not with the Blue Meanie as Blue Meanie and Rebel have a good relationship.
Mike Hawes, the General Manager of 3PW, will be doing an interview with the DOI, which will appear on the DOI site soon. Mike, in the interview, vaguely commented about the above situations.
There should be an official announcement and 100% confirmed news about 3PW's situation later on this week. Once everything is official and confirmed, we will have the complete story on the DOI as soon as possible.
In the meantime, 3PW is expected to update their site and reflect some roster changes. Check out 3PWrestling.com for more.
